Thank you so much for sharing! I live in a rural part of Japan…and there seems to be no Zine scene at all… So it is really nice to see a bit of what is happening in other places!

Happy to share about my local zine scene. 💗 And I’ve always wanted to visit Japan. Even if there isn’t an existing zine scene around you, maybe you can build one?

@@catmothcrow I am figuring things out….Maybe one day….for now my students get an assignment to make a zine :) and I use the lesson to introduce the topic and show them my small collection (in bigger cities I was able to buy some japanese Zines and some I printed online).

That’s really cool! I’d feel lucky to have a zinester as a teacher 😊

@@catmothcrow grading is really hard though! I did found a zine about using zines for assignments though and getting a lot of good ideas from that!

Thanks for taking us with you! I love getting a glimpse of all the cool zinefests and seeing what they look like and how things are happening! I had sparkles in my eyes when you showed the SLC Punk zine, now I’ll have to watch it AGAIN and read that zine! One of my favorite scenes is Devon Sawa with his spiky green hair during his bad trip :D

You’re welcome; I’m so glad to have y’all join me virtually. And I’m also a sucker for zine fest vlogs, so it was fun to make my own. And YESSSS 🤩 I wish I could host a Zine-y Movie Night where we watch a movie and then check out some zines inspired by it (and then make our own fanzines?)
