i recommend buying a AI as it has phantom power and a audio input gain... it will allow the mic to work better and if you are using it with a phone then just stop and use it with a AI onto a computer using a xlr to xlr

Your voice sounds sharper with this microphone. Also it has less volume than the other, you would have to add a gain to compensate. The treble can be by the position of the microphone, one is up and more direct to your mouth and the other takes the voice from below.

Mustang Medic I’m sure there’s free software out there. My interface came bundled with it. That’s why I chose it over a power supply. Just do a search for free recording software and try them. I think traktion has a free version. Good luck.

Colin Donovan it needs phantom power. I haven’t tried it because my phones are Apple and they don’t have the input. I don’t think the phone has enough energy to make it work.

Why tell the people that the Mic doesn't really need phantom power....that's a very wrong statement to make and misleading as well, especially when you yourself didn't do much research on the product before presenting it on KZbin ....dude, all condenser microphones, require phantom power , to power up the microphone ....unlike dynamic microphones, that's just plug and play .... plugging a condenser microphone directly into a computer will result in it not working, or, the quality, sound , would be terrible ....those microphones require and need an audio interface, that had 48 volts of phantom power.....let your subscribers know, that condenser microphones need and require a phantom power of 48 volts to power up the microphone , in order for it to perform properly

@@yfaofficial07 please understand that all condenser microphones need to be used with either a usb mixer, or usb audio interface which has built-in preamp and 48 volts phantom power .... when a condenser mic is powered up properly, the quality is improved greatly....if you connect a condenser mic into a laptop , or dslr, which cannot supply proper power/voltage to the mic, your audio quality would be very poor....the only mic you can just plug and play into a pc is a USB microphone and a dynamic microphone....not a condenser microphone.....hope that helps

Dude you probably didn't reply to my earlier comments , because you thought I was bashing you....but I wasn't...all I was doing, was drawing it to your attention, that you spoke too far from the microphones...we never had the chance to fully judge the mic performance , it's warm, full sound......we need you to do that with both the zingyou bm800 and the zingyou zy 801....let's hear what they really sound like, being spoken into the right way.....and for the record, we enjoyed how you did your presentation ....it's just that we didn't get to see and hear the zingyou full sound

The distance is fine. Never get too close to a mic of this type because they take a lot of breath, unless you want to do ASMR. The distance depends on the type of capsule used by the microphone, this has a capacitor capsule that uses a voltage of 5V DC so the distance would be the same as you would use in a condenser, not an electret microphone. That is, from 15 to 35 cm of the microphone, closer to 15 cm if you do not know how to correctly project the voice.

(Help?) I have a sound card USB adapter that came with mine, which I’m trying to use as a microphone for my canon hf r800. It’s a camcorder with specifically a mic jack input besides an av/headphone input. So I figured I could just directly put my XLR cable jack into it and record. But for some reason it doesn’t pick up any sound from the ZY-801... in case it’s important to mention, I haven’t plugged in headphones along the microphone’s jack into the camcorder, and the camcorder does not have a USB input so plugging the sound card in isn’t an option.

Katebeeoni you need the audio interface for it to work on your Mac. Invest on a good audio interface. The audiobox by presonus is what I use and it come with the recording software. Really easy to use.

Alex Lauren Castillo audiobox is a brand of an audio interface. This specific mic says it doesn’t require any phantom power, however it will perform at it’s best with it. I’m a Mac user, and I don’t have a mic input. Therefore I have to use the interface.

I am using an HP PC Windows 10. I have tried the plug and play. NO SOUND. I tried plugging it in directly to the microphone port that came with the PC. NO SOUND I tried plugging it in directly to a speaker. NO SOUND. The ad says "Include Sound card." There is no sound card. I tried to make adjustments in Control Panel. Nothing works. NO SOUND When it is connected it turns off all other sounds on the PC. NO SOUND NO INSTRUCTIONS for any of this in the box. They just claim plug and play. NO SOUND . Does anyone have step by step installation instructions for this product using WIndows 10?

The Rodway mine is holding up pretty good. I don’t get any buzzing when I use it with an usb audio interface. Sounds like you got a bad one. You should contact the manufacturer and let them know. Good luck
