Do you wait for the white resin to cool and thicken up a bit? When I tried to do this, I did it right away when the resin was still hot, so I think it was too runny? It just flowed out of the bag like crazy even though I only made a tiny snip at the tip of the bag

What reason are you using? I'm not sure I understand. My resin starts out cool and warms up as it cures. By the time I'm done coloring it, I can start pouring.

@@CathiiLaPierreArt I use Famowood. Mine starts off cool as well, but by the time I had all of the colors mixed, some of the resin in the mold, and the white resin in the bag, it was already getting really hot and thin. Did I actually wait too long after mixing the white resin to draw the flowers?

@@SkinnyPigDesigns sounds like it. Mix your colors all at once and try to work quickly. Don't put anything in the mold until you're ready to start. Everything should be poured at the same time. Use smaller scissors if you can and snip a micro piece off first. Don't twist the bag too tight. Keep it upright at all times unless you're drawing. Hope this helps. 🙂

Beautiful as always. Have you tried doing this technique with resin pastes or powder and yield the same results? Just curious because I see a lot of artist use alcohol inks when doing the flower effect. I've tried doing this technique using a resin paste and I made it very transparent and the white did not sink all the way down like it should have. the bottom side of the coaster looked more like white drops and the front side had the flower look.

I have tried it with only Mica pigment and I've tried it with pigment and alcohol ink. I got virtually the same result. I've never tried pastes.

If your white isn't moving enough, hit it with a heat gun. Warming up the resin will make it more fluid and allow the white to create the effect you're after. :-)

Very pretty. Is it the Castin' Craft pigment that makes the resin look so deep and move or can white alcohol ink or craft paint cause that same effect?

Any white pigment will work but it must be pigment...liquid, powder, or paste, doesn't matter.

You have to try KSResin, super resin and cheaper.

Yes! Just be sure to only use a little bit or use a transparent color otherwise your flower won't show up.
