@@sworley1956 Sorry I'm home with a sick 5 year old. I can't always answer every question right away. Yes, I let it thicken first. This is is an old video so I use different things I use a thicker resin. Less bubbles and cures harder.

Use less white pigment. If you use too much it makes the resin too heavy and it drops to the bottom.

AMAZING!!!!🤩 I am new with resin and every time I try casting I get that little edge (about 1 mm ) at the top. What is the secret for not getting it. Yours look so nice with the rounded edges. Please help
@CathiiLaPierreArt
@CathiiLaPierreArt 4 жыл бұрын
That sharp little edge you get at the top is called the meniscus. It happens with all liquids in a container. The only way to avoid it is to fill your molds right to the top. I like my coasters on the thinner side though. So I prefer to wet sand the rough edge and just leave it.

As one of many, I, too, think your videos and talents are unmatched. I would be interested in the more.yalta class, but I don't do instagram. Any info would be appreciated. Quick questions: when you add "10 drops" of crafting' craft, does each drop have a little tail streaming with it? I do not get solid "drops" without a tail which makes me wonder if that's why I'm having difficulty with the white spreading. Is there too much? Also, it doesn't seem you use your heat gun too long, whereas I apply about 4 times throughout the pour for 5-8 second intervals. I tried your pansy pour and it was a failure. Not sure if it was because I used Adirondack ink v Piñata, too many drops to make it darker, the white was too thick, or the resin was overheated or too cold. Thanks for sharing your talents.
@CathiiLaPierreArt
@CathiiLaPierreArt 4 жыл бұрын
I try to avoid trailing drops by shaking the bottle as its falling to release the drop. Try only using 8 drops. Using too much heat will cause your white to spread. White is one of the heaviest pigments and will sink to the bottom. If you use too much heat, it makes the resin melt and allows the white to sink faster. This technique is basically trying to freeze the white resin in place before the clear has hardened all the way. Try making your lines thinner. Again, if they're too thick they are too heavy and will drop to the bottom. Ask for more Yalta, she only operates through Instagram. I do have my own course now on patreon. It's $10 a month and I post four or more videos exclusively there. They are more in-depth videos where I'm speaking. If you're interested here's the link: www.Patreon.com/CathiiLaPierreArt
