Art…as a former addict in recovery for 10 + years it is so heartbreaking watching these stories and thinking of how easily I could’ve been one of these people. Sharing their stories is so important, not just for them but for the rest of us that watch. Her smile when you gave her a few small things was so genuine, and sad that in a life of darkness small things we take for granted like a purse and clean clothes could bring so much joy to someone struggling like Zion. I was lost during a time when crack was the hardest street drug. So when I see Zion I see what could’ve become of me if I had been born in the 21st century. Zion is actually very intelligent. You can tell she is weaving together parts of the book in the beginning of a self reflective essay of her life right now. The part of the book she first mentions is the boy ( a good pure human - a youth) singing the dying circus master to sleep. ( she is obviously scared of dying and especially of dying alone without being shown love ). And she then referenced the end of the book where people started figuring out they were being poisoned and dying because of that( she knows the drugs she's consuming are poisoning and killing her ). And addiction is a killer, but the extra nasty stuff they are selling on the street right now is unlike what was previously sold. But it was sad to see how intelligent and introspective she is about her situation

I love that blue wig on her❤ almost had me crying when she was talking about the straight knife and then she said you’re my angel and you make me feel safe 🥰 God bless you Art for putting some hope and happiness in her life ❤ she said she lost her voice meaning she just didn’t talk anymore until you came along asking to interview her which pretty much made her feel like she was noticed and not invisible anymore. The smile on her face getting those things from you especially the purse is priceless and I am so happy she feels loved and what about when she’s eating popsicles she doesn’t want the drugs at that moment and feels free 💕 I love her! I am usually unfazed and detached watching the videos. Only because I was homeless from 12-27 yrs old. So nothing shocks me. The types of drugs out now are freaking wild, but they all take everything from you. But to see Zion smile, thank you, and say I love you. Did bring tears to my eyes.

Zion looks much lively in these pixs. I think the showers seem to brighten their life some little way to feeling cleaner and more human, It would be great to see public clean showers that they could be given tokens to use, including disposable towels, can any woman just think what it would be like to be on the streets and only able to shower 4 monthly or more and having to ask or beg someone to allow you shower, when you know they can smell you from the end of the street anyway. Ive commented before,please would it be possible to donate high calorie boost drinks to zion?I feel they will tremendously help her They have 530 calories a drink and are sweet,strawberry taste the best,ive used them to gain weight before when loosing a lot due to stress It also helps people undergoing chemo If she drinks 2-3 a day with a small meal i think it could be life saving Sending positive vibes and light to you Zion You're still beautiful Thanks Art

My dog has saved me in so many ways when I didn't have one human being to reach out to but I had my Poohno, he is on his last few days here on earth and I will cherish every moment with him..

Alicia, they AREsuch a blessing and often save us when nobody else can. ❤️ I think it's because they make us feel good with their unconditional love, without pexpecting anything in return. There are no egos to stroke and no ulterior motives, so when they show love we can know that it's pure. People can offer love, gifts, and praise but far too often it's given because it makes them somehow feel better about themselves or makes up for something else they're lacking. I love the end of your comment, not only does it show your love and appreciation for him, but when the time comes, you can look back with no regrets. Grieving such a love is hard, but having no guilt or regrets makes it just a little bit easier.🌹

She has a long, long, way to go and it is hard to know if she will ever transcend her circumstances.... BUT she is looking a tiny bit better. The fact that she is still mobile, conversational, etc. is a testament to the survival instinct. The human body can withstand a lot, but her condition is very serious and sad! I hope that both she and Angela consent to medical care.
