David Griffin should not be allowed to make another trade. Griffin should be fired. This G.M. is too proud to admit his mistakes, and allowing him to make any deals will sink this team deeper into poverty.

@@MrSimba27 Don’t say anything bad about the Pelicans. Especially if it’s the truth. We’ve been a franchise laughingstock since the trade of CP3. Griffin was the new identity . To take us from being the team no one wants to play for to establishing a winning culture. Griffin had the keys to a brand new car and he totaled it. Someone on here tell ant. God forbid you tell the truth about this team that I won’t lose a press pass for telling the truth about our team. Get Zion, BI,Cj and Griffin out of here.

I'm biased as a Raptors fan, but I'd love to see Zion re-unite with RJ Barrett. Could spark his passion for the game again. Plus the training staff here is top notch, we handled Kawhi's tricky health issues well to maximize his productivity! It would be a great fit!

This makes me sad! I'm realistic abt how things have gone, but I really don't want to see Zion traded. I was a partial Pels fan and spent most of my energy on the saints. When Zion was selected, I really jumped on board. We don't get stars that make us the talk of the league so this was such a big shift. I really hope he comes back and does so well we rethink getting rid of him. I also know if he plays well that improves his trade value. This just makes me sad!

Perhaps comprehending is a thing of the past. I said I understood all the factors. Doesn't mean that I can't acknowledge that it's sad because it hasn't worked. I'm a fan, not a fanatic so my if Zion is traded I still root for the team. But you do you! I wish the best for the pels and Zion. There is no conflict in that.

Zion’s a unique type of player and always a potential unstoppable force. But he has not progressed his game (even when healthy) . He has to pound and force his way through walls to get to the rim. As he gets older that’s only going to relate to more injuries. It’s too bad he couldn’t live up the hype and expectations which were over the top ridiculous from the start. The “fans” he lured in could care less about the franchise or how the game is played. It’s a still a guard league and the bigs that last and are consistent and can ball in the playoffs are proficient shooters (jokic etc). And Luca got his team to the finals because their back court is built to go deep in the playoffs. Points in the paint are nice but you have to be able to shoot outside the paint to create more mismatches. Something Zion never learned.

At this point, any other team can have zion. He's not doing anything for our pelicans anyway
How is it that any injury Zion suffers results in virtually half a season lost? Its depressing and almost cruel twist of fate that the basketball gods bestowed upon N.O. a generational talent, who was blessed aesthetically with the body of a demi-god., but its functional performance results in a career of promise unfulfilled due to the inevitability of injuries. Only fitting that N.O. would be cursed to such a wicked stroke of luck.

If this team was your starting point, one would think that five years later you would be better than you are now? G: Darius Garland (the "should-have-been pick") G: Jrue Holiday (The "heart and soul" of any team) C: Julius Randall (the "nothing-in-return" brain fart of the organization) F: Brandon Ingram (a consistent scorer who can fill up a box score) F: Zion Williamson (He once had tremendous trade value even if he's only a myth) Bench: Josh Hart; Lonzo Ball (could have flipped him for Lauri Markkanen); and Kenrich Williams Coach: Chris Finch ...and a war chest of draft picks from the Anthony Davis deal (that has been severely mismanaged) SPECIAL NOTE: This potential 2019-20 starting lineup have all been All Stars over the past five years Now who wants to defend David Griffin? I'll admit, however, every inter-team transaction he's made since he's been here has made teams better. Unfortunately, none of those teams went by the name, "Pelicans"
@mackdeen7021Күн бұрын
Hmmm. And yet you forgot Herb, and Trey and finding Jose in FA. Not to mention Jordon and Missy draft picks etc. I’m not going to defend Griffin as a master mind and maybe he loses his job…but he has brought in talent. Ingram (via the AD trade) , Zion, Herb Jones , Trey, CJ, and Dejounte Murray and a deep bench. There is plenty of talent on this roster!!!!! They were one and half games from being in front Dallas for the playoffs last year. Again injuries reared its head. Griffin has missed on some, but he’s acquired talent that should relate to a playoff caliber team every season! It’s just not happened.

@@mackdeen7021 None of those players were obtained directly via trade with other teams. in every trade he's ever made as a Pelican, he's been fleeced. Milwaukee won a championship. LA won a championship. New Orleans is out of contention (record: 5-25) before New Years in Griff's fifth year. JAX and NAW were a poor use of the 2019 4th pick We paid draft capital to Charlotte to obtain Davonte Graham Then we paid draft capital to San Antonio to get rid of Davonte Graham. We paid draft capital to Utah for a one-year rental of Derek Favors only for him to go back to the Jazz the next year. We shipped Lonzo to Chicago for Sato and Temple when Lauri Markkanen was offered before trade deadline We paid mightily to include Steven Adams in the Jrue Holiday trade. (Ask Sam Presti) Then we included draft capital with Adams to Memphis for Jonas Valanciunas Then we let that workhorse (JV) walk for nothing Remember, JAX? He walked for nothing...Just like three time All Star Julius Randle did in 2019. We traded some other AD trade assets (JHart and NAW) for CJ and LNJ OUCH!!! DD, LNJ and Laker FRP for Murray? Really??? Sheesh!!! BTW Who's leading the NBA in steals by a country mile? Also, one of his finds (Naji Marshall) walked this year for nothing and is firmly entrenched in Maverick rotation. He's totally botched the Brandon Ingram dilemma. He's overpaid the "Face of the Franchise" ("Elephant in the Room") so much that nobody wants him (justifiably so). ....and there's more.... I understand your desire to talk about our deep bench, most fans always overvalue their home team players. Now with this PROVEN track record of coming out on the short end of inter-team trades, you have confidence in Griff dickering with the roster any further?
