He isn't even medically cleared to play. He is not injured but not ready to play. They have to ramp up his workouts slowly. People expect someone who was injured a week ago to just play in the playoffs? He would gas out in the first quarter.

@@Mieslk2but he also clearly has gained a ton of weight again. People really think it’s too much to ask to not gain 30lbs when you’re off the court. Same with Luka. There’s zero excuse. You have the best nutritionists, chefs, doctors, physical therapists in the world. It’s absurd that he can’t just stay in shape.

Between Ben Simmons, Zion and the whole "load balance" culture these day, it really feels like the NBA isn't so much competitive sport that needs effort anymore. Hundreds of millions get paid to self-admitting slackers that can say "dont feel like it" and no one can do anything.

Life is not fair, but they are definitely on the much more fortunate side of the fence. I'll say they are even more blessed than being born a millionaire's kid. they have coverted one in several million talent and a market ready for them use it in. Worse you can say to them is that their team lacks the stability that a spurs or celtics system can offer. But even then not all players want that, like a dejounte murray.

Willis is a legend, period. Quickest man in the paint I've ever seen, when healthy. BUT! He only came out for the '70 Finals Game 7 as a Knicks team motivational factor. After hitting those first two shots, he went to the bench for the other 45 minutes of the game. His motivating worked. I always have wondered whether the pair of shots going in was important, or if the Knicks would have cleaned the Lakers out anyway, made or missed.

I don't know why people think he is going to get traded, he just signed an extension and the pelicans already invested on him a lot. Look at the Derrick rose situation it’s a perfect example. The bulls traded Derrick rose away before it was too late when they could’ve gotten a huge haul for him. They had another rising star in jimmy butler, but couldn’t build around jimmy properly cause rose was taking up so much of the cap. The pelicans have another decent young player in Brandon Ingram, and if they trade Zion they could properly build around Ingram instead of waiting for Zion to return from injury every season, just like the bulls did with rose.

You can't skip a single-game elimination play-in game (let alone two) if you want to be the savior for the playoffs. Not only is it likely that they won't make the playoffs, but if they do, this means that the team has jelled quite a bit without him. It's hard to develop playoff-level chemistry with a team anyway, let alone after missing 3 months. Zion is essentially saying that he cannot help this basketball team this season.

I stretch a lot, ice massage a lot. I’ve had every treatment imaginable. At some point, after about 4-5 years you give up on treatment, and just cope with the discomfort, and live your life. Zion is an amazing player. I don’t care what anyone says! If he stays healthy he will be a force and remembered for years! He don’t have to play 80 games a season. As long as this dude plays helps the team and is available playoff time he will play for a long long time

"If he stays healthy". He's been in the league for about 3 years and already signed a new contract. The "if he stays healthy" ship has sailed. He wasnt healthy, he isnt healthy. Guys like you will be saying in ten years still "he only needs to be healthy". NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. For numerous reasons, his body is already done. And he doesnt want to acknowledge the MEDICAL fact, that if he stays FAT, his joints, specially the knees, will be gone all the sooner.
@maxmeier532
@maxmeier532 Жыл бұрын
@@dbearded130 that's the point. Literally everyone is rooting for him. What's the apparent mental issue, I dont get it. Point being, he is not Ben Simmons. When he's on court he shows presence. That's all people want, especially from a guy like Zion. But physics cant be cheated. Unless you're Shaq. For all others, if you're too fat and play very physically and the high vert is your signature move, your career will be short.

People probably need to stop mixing the genuine need for rest and recuperation vs laziness. Had a guy that torn his ACL, came back 6 months later only to have his knee pop again. Guys that were near him when it happened could literally hear it. And this was just casual street ball. These athletes are at the highest playing field, they need to be in their best conditions to even stay competitive. Give the guy a chance

You are correct but I think he also just trashed his body before he even got to the league. His parents are on record in an ESPN article worrying he was playing too much and it was messing up his body when he was still in high school. So even in the physical sense he may not ever "feel like Zion" again.

i played a season with a torn shoulder and bruised fingers and a rolled ankle lol and a few years ago played a season after having being scraped by a motorcycle accident my entire right side was scraped from legs my back and having my fingerprints erased for a week and still showed up to practice after 2 days and played the season opener 2 days after my first practice seriously imagine catching a hard pass with no skin on your hands and feeling the burn and pain and non stop bleeding under the bandage so i had to let my teammates pass me the ball softly for a couple of days just to be able to practice with them. its either 2 ways he can go with it is either be healthy or just play physical basketball and stay grounded i played with pro players that are overweight athletic talking about 190-200 cm but 120-140 kg mostly fat that can dunk and jump high but they suffered with injures the only way they can stay uninjured is to stay grounded and not run as fast as they can and not jump high and just use pure strength to secure boards and get inside buckets and im talking about 21-23 year old pros at the time and they were on my team since i was young and never have i seen them rest after a injury we always use to play it out adrenaline would kick in and we'd have the doctor with us spraying the injured part icing after being subbed out for 2-3,5 minutes tying a shoe tighter then the other just to be able to run normally zion is a talent but he'll be playing of the bench after a couple seasons then he'll be out of the NBA if doesn't get his priorities straight and he'll be a bigger bust then Kawme Brown and Anthony Bennett damn even greg oden suffered injuries worst than him and seriously i know people who had hamstrings injuries and only rested for 3 weeks month max but nearly 3 months is out of line
