Uhhh so if you don't consider Perk talented..... Then what would you call JJ? Perkins and Redick are both guys who were talented in certain aspects of their game, yet also had clear and obvious flaws. Both had very long and successful careers in the NBA, despite both guys being players who would never in their wildest dreams be considered MVP caliber. Sooo... You can 100% criticize or praise either of their opinions on their respective merits. But you're only sabotaging your own argument by implying Perkins' isn't qualified to give his opinion on the MVP race due to his lack of MVP credentials in his own career. Cuz JJ wasn't anywhere close to that level either.

Chamberlain was 7ft 1', probably considered a genetic anomaly at the time playing in an NBA that was majority white, do you really think there was anyone playing the game that could stop that man from scoring? @@mindaugasmazrimas4554 you MIGHT have a decent point, except that NO ONE in the current modern NBA could hope to stop Wilt either, especially if he had all the advantages, training, shoes, modern medicine, etc that they had. Unless you think Rudy Gobert, Nikola Jokic, or Bam Adebayo is going to stop him today 😂😂😂 Good luck with THAT! Starting center for the Eastern Conference Champion was Robert Williams III. Starting center for the Western Conference Champion and eventual NBA champion was Kevin Looney. SAFE TO SAY if Wilt was alive in his prime RIGHT NOW, he could have his old job back as starting Center on the defending champion Warriors TOMORROW. People that imply Wilt couldn’t play today, or that Wilt only did the things he did because of the competition… those people should REALLY SIT BACK AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE SAYING… Implying things like that makes no sense. This was a SKILLED BASKETBALL PLAYER who hit turn around-fadeaway jumpers and finger rolls for the majority of his points. I think defensive rebounds are a little overrated though. Defensive rebounds are easier to get and most of the time uncontested, and when it is contested it's usually secured because of your teammate boxing out for you (who he gets no credit statistically for that). First of all, the nuggets losing streak was 4 and the Sixers was 3. People payed more attention to the nuggets losing streak because it was against relatively bad teams they should’ve beat like the spurs, and against mediocre teams when they were at home, like the raptors and bulls. The Sixers we’re losing on the road against the suns and home warriors, as well as the nuggets without Embiid. And, yeah, why would he duck the game if the last time they played embiid dropped nearly 50 on jokic? Also, jokic can’t defend for shit. But you’re right about perkins

If there is a racism about the MVP race, it is against Jokic, not in favor of him. What I have seen, time and time again, is an absolute disrespect, bordering on hatred, against any basketball player that DARES to make it into the NBA and be crazy good at it, that didn't play all of his formative years within the United States system (High School, College, etc.) Yao Ming, Manu Ginobili, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic... if you are foreigner, and played in the Euroleague, or anywhere else, right before playing in the NBA, and never, not even once, played in the NCAA or any other place within the USA before doing so, everyone will disrespect you, say that you aren't really that good, that you don't deserve to get any of the praise you get regardless of how good you play, and that any American born and raised player will always be better than you. Giannis Antetokounmpo is probably one of the best players to ever play the game, an amazing talent, and because he played in Greece before he was, what? Picked 15th in the 2013 draft. 15th! A talent like that? That makes no sense! A talent like that and no scout was able to notice, except the Bucks, of how good he was, of his potential? Or is it just because he was playing in a small team in Greece, then "No, yeah, he's just dominant because he's big and because he's playing against nobodies. No real prospect there." Charles Barkley keeps being proven wrong time and time again when he talks trash against players like Yao Ming (he kissed the donkey all right), and now talks against Luka Doncic saying how "Oh, he was good in Europe? That doesn't mean he was good, that just means the players in Europe are bad and their league is bad and their teams are bad, it doesn't really mean Luka Doncic is any good." Or when Ginobili retired how some people on sports networks said he didn't even fit to be one of the top 10 best players the Spurs ever had and he didn't deserve his number 20 to be retired. The "American Exceptionalism" mentality one is seeing in the NBA and sports journalists in general is disgusting. "How dare this Serbian even THINK he can be the MVP this season over AMERICAN BORN players!? We have to tear him down and accuse anyone that likes him of being racist!"

As a Jokić fan from Serbia, I really don't care anymore. Those three guys are being so dominant that it's just crazy. I only hope for them to keep performing well in PO and give us some more great games, that's all. It's such shame that media and salty fans're casting a shadow over this thing. However, all thre guys deserve it and whoever gets it this season, it'll be absolutely fine.

The entire black community for the most part were the ones who decided to go along with it and endorse this result. Even one of the biggest Nuggets online personalities who has supported Jokic couldn't help but comment about how happy he was that it was a black man who won MVP (like they haven't won basically all of them). Perk didn't make it happen, the community did. It's a big problem. I'm not one to complain about political stuff, but if they took over basketball based on a false narrative, then who knows how it can screw up things in the real world. They're all complicit and should be ashamed.

You have left out a few important facts here: 1) A month ago on March 5th, Jokic was still the favorite (around -400). 2) Since then, his team is 7-9 3) It’s constantly been the stretch run that decides MVP. Last year, Embiid was favored a little over a month out and Jokic dominated down the stretch flipping the straw poll 4) In the past month, Embiid has a GW, a 50 point game, and has led Philly to a similar record as Denver in a tougher conference (12-6 last 18)

To further your point: 1) Since Feb 25, Embiid averaged 36 ppg for 12 games 2) Leading up to Perkin's comment, Jokic scored under 20 pts in 5 of 6 games MVP are voting Embiid because he deserves it, not because MVP voters are feeling white guilt due to Perkins.
