I am sorry that you had that experience. As a chaplain I tried my best to preach and model, “Love thy neighbour.” But even stateside, the USAF broke me. Hearing racism and ministering to the wounded personnel was too much for me to bear. I kept thinking, “If this is how we treat our people, what are we doing to the ‘enemy’?” I will pray for all those fighting but I hope you never lose your compassion.
