*About the Rot Crystallians* , I do have to remind people that Scarlet Rot isn’t just a Biohazard like poison it’s decay given physical form. It’s corrosive in nature giving how it eats through earth but also how Jerren and Redman Knight need Iji to design weapons that wouldn’t rot. It’s more just that they’re “stained” with rot and crystal is known to be very slow to decay. I don’t think it says much about whether they are organic or not.

The thing about the lore in Elden Ring is that it is very interested in providing internal logic to how life and the universe is from the standpoint of understanding alchemy before chemistry. Everything is metaphor for natural processes. The lore we explore with the magic in this game is intrinsically linked to mind and consciousness in relation to subdivision of different parts of the wholeness of things. Mind, Body, Spirit/Soul. The Primeval Current must be referring to where consciousness flows. Just pure mind without soul or physical form. Now, to understand what this is in relation to the Graven Mass, it's like an idea that persists and outlives a person. A piece of written information that is inscribed on stone, an engraved and unchanging peer reviewed objective factual truth of the universe. Sellen is trying to become that as the Graven Witch, an indelible mind that is pure consciousness, but the problem with being set in stone is a rigidity that can't easily be changed or amended. Just knowledge that is forever recorded as it was written, a biographical piece of mind that lives after the physical death of a person like watching a movie of an actor that passed away but they live on in their representation on the screen. A recorded eco that is not able to be interacted with, just as a work of inscription and ideas to be interpreted from a book or stone slab rather than an animate conscious person. In Sellen's case it's like the steps she takes in transferring consciousness between bodies and Ranni's case of her mind inhabiting the Renna doll. This may be seen as unnatural, as in the cosmological sense of the game, when a person dies their physical body is returned to the earth/world tree, the memories/identity of their past life are washed away in the lethen water currents to rejoin a river of primordial consciousness, and their soul migrates to a new body to be reincarnated as a new person (but with the same soul as the last one). That's the natural order of things represented by the closed loop circles of the Elden Ring as rules governing everything including the cycle of life and death.

Despite maybe being written "around" their designs, I think they fit quite nicely. With Astronomy, Stars and Gravitational magic, they have a bunch of things that are either directly or tangentially connected to them. Subject of studies by sorcerers; taboo subjects to the order because they're pretty much alien; proof that there is more out there than the will of the gods of the fingers. Heck, they might even be directly connected to beasts like Astel and the whole race of Fallingstar Beasts, that are also crystal-like beings that evolve. With the mention of Amber Glintstone, I hope that means we get a Golden Crystallian boss in the dlc.
@Greywander8710 ай бұрын
Probably not this DLC, which seems to be centered around Miquella and the spirit world. But if you think about it, the only great runes we can't get right now are Miquella's* and... Ranni's. Ranni put her great rune on the moon, so I think it's possible we could see a future DLC were we go to the moon to recover Ranni's great rune. That would be the perfect place to include more stuff relating to outer space, such as the crystallians, astel/falling star beasts, and onyx/alabaster lords. *You'll notice that most of the great runes seems to form into near-identical pairs that seem to be shared by siblings. Morgott's rune and Mohg's rune look very similar, and likewise Radahn and Rykard's runes look very similar. The only odd one out is Malenia's and... Rennala's runes. One would think that the matching symbol to Malenia's great rune would be the rune belonging to Miquella, and indeed the Rune of the Unborn would actually fit thematically with Miquella. Perhaps it was originally going to be Miquella's great rune and it was changed at the last minute. Or perhaps it _is_ Miquella's great rune, and Rennala has it for some unknown reason. There's also the fact that we don't know what Miquella's rune would look like, and all pieces of the Elden Ring are already accounted for (including Ranni's rune, which can be seen on the surface of the moon). Miquella's rune, if it exists, would either be something not represented in the Elden Ring, or it would overlap another existing piece (much like other sibling rune pairs do, but Malenia's rune already has a matching pair in Rennala's rune, and Godrick's is the only unpaired rune (technically Ranni's, Marika's, and Radagon's runes are also unpaired, but they're unobtainable anyway)). If it's not represented in the Ring, then it will probably work like a mending rune, unlocking a new ending.

Zio, hear me out on this...: the image of Sellen's soulglint has the image of a fetus in a womb, in the center. I'm assuming it's to represent the vitality and soul of Sellen. But what if it's a literal depiction as well... Of what would happen if you put a soulglint like that into a collection of glintstone. What if these creations were born, using this process. A sorcerer practicing making primal glintstones with other creatures and beings, and placing them into collections of glintstones. Then carving their shape out. One could even go crazier, and suggest that this process would exhibit similar effects as the puppet draught, wherein the creator (master), is able to control them to an extent. If that's the case, what if it's only to the extreme that it required a "mission" or a "reason" to exist. And so said sorcerer instilled a promise of more brethren if they are able to protect the crystals. Wild tangent, but would be neat.

The 2nd Shattering segregated everything hence why they exist. Before the 2nd happened everything was connected through Miquella (Mycelia) but after Mohg's abduction, Marika shattered the Elden Ring to return all gold back to the Erd Tree but it was only alloyed gold. That is why Miquella never returned and is also why we fight Godfrey's Grace, the segregation created a physical form of his grace.

Nice theory, but isn’t it kinda confirmed that Mohg’s kidnapping of Miquella is why he never came back? Also, I think the golden Godfrey we fight was conjured by Margot, since we seen him do something similar twice in the game.
@OneStarRating10 ай бұрын
I agree with you that Morgott summoned Godfrey. Miquella, Mohg, Malenia, and Morgott are quadruplets in this timeline after The 2nd Shattering. Before that they were twins, Miquella/Mohg in one body and Malenia/Morgott in another one. The segregation gave Morgott access to summon Godfrey.

PreScript: Crystalians... Cryst-alians... Crystal Aliens!! To me it looks like Crystalians move like robots and we find them like groups of guards as if created and placed. The Zamor move graceful AF and seem to "keep to themselves" since you rarely find one outside of the Zamor Ruins where presumably they were found as corpses before they were reanimated, since they are "ancient" could it be they just fought the giants because they were occupying what the Zamor remember as their home? I'm just saying maybe they actually are friendly and chill AF if you just keep off their turf and let them practice their Capoeira-with-contact-ice-and-swords arts.

As a massive Dark Souls 2 fan. I have to unfortunaly disagree. Their moves dont really have any resemblement to ruin sentinels attacks, only one that you could say is mayby taken from them is the spining they do at times but even that isint a match because Ruin Sentinels hold their arms higher and dont jump during it. Attack wise the mage and The... circle things, movesets dont match at all to Ruin sentinels (exept the spining but i allready said that it wasent the exact same) The spear comes the closest but even it doesent match at all to ruin sentinels attacks. Ruin sentinels have 1 stab attack and thats a one handed stab leading to swings. Crystalian spear users never attack you with just 1 hand. They allways use both their hands. So no this is just incorect.
