Zippo Fuel Canister

Zippo is a great company with tons of history. A real piece of Americana. Some people don't realize they make a lot more than just lighters. Zippo's fuel canister is a good idea, but could really use a little more improvement on the quality. However, where this product falls a little short, Zippo's customer service is able to make up for. A good - fair and honest review Trevor . Thought about getting one of these , but will stay with a plastic squeeze bottle used for a sinus spray which will fill a Zippo lighter or hand warmer more than a few times . Before anyone asks - White gas does NOT melt the bottle and white gas / Coleman fuel or the cheaper generic "camp fuel" from wal mart is infinitely less expensive than Zippo lighter fluid or Ronsinol . Thanks for the review! It detailed what I was worried about getting one - was worried it would just unscrew and fall off while I was walking. - Here is a tip though you can keep spare flints under the felt pad inside of the lighter insert. I always keep at least one in there for when the flint finally runs out.

I'm glad it could help. I keep my canister in my pack now, and rather than use the rubber flint holder I just keep spare flints in the same pouch in my pack.

I have one. Zero issues so far but I haven't tried to carry it or remove a flint. I do keep spare flints in each lighter but it's nice to have extra.

They could improve it by knurling the cap with pour spout on it. Attack keyring to the bottom section and forget trying to be so multiple function.

Good question for Zippo. I wasn't too impressed with the fuel canister, but I was very impressed with Zippo's customer service! Send them an e-mail.

Nope. As far as I know, just regular lighter fluid.

Thanks for this detailed video. I've decided to NOT get one of these cannisters. It just doesn't appear to be good enough quality, which sadly doesn't ring true with Zippo's USA made reputation. Thanks for the review though!

+Harry Ireland You probably made the right choice! I've had two of these canisters for a while now, and the fluid still evaporates out of them too, although much slower than it will from a lighter.

Zippo design is faulty but well marketed petrol lighter. Respect only for costumer service, but considering how cheap they are to make, I cant claim to be honest about this fact.

Nice review. Informative. Some comments. . . Spare flints belong with the lighter, not the fuel canister. The fuel canister belongs inside your pack or in a pocket, not dangling from your keyring. Lastly, and most bothersome. . . The shaky hands. . . You either need to drink less, or drink more.

I must have had low blood sugar or something that day. Hands were definitely shaky! I think drink more is the answer! ;)
