Hey zippo I got a little problem going on with a AC-B112 mowing deck. When I got the tractor the deck was already hooked up but I noticed when I moved the lever to lower the deck, the deck ddidn’t move and when I tried to raise the deck it didn’t move. It seems to be stuck in once place and it looked like the mid pto is practically sitting ontop of the deck, any advice would be greatly appreciated 🤝 I’m just getting started learning about these things so I’m sure I’ll have plenty more questions but I do think your videos are very detailed and super instructional!

A 42 inch deck will work but the larger deck will not if the B-210 is not a variable speed or hydrostatic. There isn't enough room between the front and rear tires to accommodate the size of the larger deck.

if you had two wood wedges to lay in front of your front tire and and butted against the deck you can drive up and over the deck. I have a 84 A/C 5020 with 60" mowing deck and the deck is heavy so I fashioned wedges that work great for getting on or off the deck easily..

You are correct Roy. In fact, in the manual for the tractors I collect, it states to simply ride over the deck to get it under the tractor to mount. This is just how I do it, and have done it for years. Some of these 50 year old or older decks are thinning out and riding over them may spell disaster. There are a number of snow blowers that were available. Best advice is go to simpletractors dott comm or michaelstractors dott comm with your model or type of blower and ask the guys there.

Good vid again! So much simpler to mount the decks on the FDTs vs the 36" deck onto my RBT 4212, since the deck is directly powered by a pulley on he vertical shaft engine, and is controlled by engagement on the deck. The real fly in the ointment is the poor access to the front belt guides, next to the muffler, and not providing much room to get in with wrenches to tighten the bolts, while maintaining the required clearance from the pulley! Too much to do; not enough hands. Cheers Buddy.

Lengths vary by year, even though the tractors appear identical, minor changes in the mid pto and decks warranted different belts. So knowing your exact deck and tractor model is needed. Zip~

Heya Rooney! Those are 4.00x8 tri ribs. Look up "k-morrow" on eBay. He is by far the best and cheapest. These are also available in a slightly shorter height 3.50x8 and 4 and 6 inch wheel sizes also. Cheers!!

Hey Zippo, Having lots of trouble with proper adjustment of PTO on my Landlord 101. Have tried several set screw tensions on the clutch rod but no luck. If I set the spring tension so that the idler pulley firmly engages the drive pulley in the engaged position, then the lift lever bounces around when its in the release position. I have to secure the lever with a bungee cord to keep it from bouncing in out of drive position. I have also had problems with the crossdrive belt breaking when I engage the PTO. Can you please advise?

The chain holding the deck isn't adjusted to allow a full float on the ground. Add a link or two of chain. And yes, I know..now the deck doesn't raise enough for your liking. It's the whole cake and eat it too thing. As for shredding belts, bad bearings in either the mule drive on the mid PTO or the bearings on the deck spindle are probably bad. You can go to Simplicity.com and enter the MFG. Number of your Simplicity 101 (990314 will get you the manual you need) and follow the mid PTO tensioning instructions within. Back to the deck and lift lever....The deck isn't supposed to pull all the way up to the bottom of the tractor in the stored position. Just up far enough to allow for easier storage. If you want the deck to pull all the way up to the bottom of the tractor, you will have the lift lever bounce, because there isn't enough distance between the deck and lift arm to allow the deck to float when in use. Zippo, thanks for the response. But I think you may have misunderstood me about the bouncing lift lever issue. I was referring to the clutch rod assembly lift/engage handle, not the lift handle that raises and lowers the mower deck. My point was that this assembly bounces around when the clutch rod is in the disengaged position, and that I have to secure it with a small bungee to keep the idler pulley from bouncing on and off the PTO drive belt. I thought this might be due to improper spring tension on the clutch rod. But it seems to bounce no matter the spring tension. Hope I'm describing this correctly for you. Any further advice surely appreciated.

I just purchased a lawn tractor which I believe to be a simplicity/A.C. except the pulleys for the drive belt are located on the right side and are side by side. Directly below the mid pto. How the hell do I route the drive belt?

You simply drive over the deck Mad Dog. I just choose to install mine this way and with these older machines, a deck that's weakened from years of use and rust, you run the risk of damage. Cheers! Zip~

No you do not drive over it . It slides in from the right side with no trouble without driving over it and without using a jack it is possible I know the trick

This how I was shown . Step 1. Turn steering wheel hard left to you can't turn it no more Step 2. Slide mowing deck under tractor from right hand side till mounting Fork touches front right wheel. Step 3. Grab hold of mounting Fork on front of mowing deck lift up words and over front right tire and lower back down that the fork Is straddling both sides of the tire. Step 4. Go to left side of tractor and maneuver mowing deck height adjustment around mule Drive. Sep5. Return to right side of tractor grab mounting Fork on mowing deck lift over right side front tire and lower back down now the mounting Fork will be between left and right front wheel. Step 6. Connect mounting Fork to front axle run belt from mowing deck to mule Drive pulling lever to tighten tension spring and connect lifting chain . That's how my grand father showed me on the allis chalmers big 10 😁

Mad, I didn't take your comment out of context at all buddy. I was in a hurry yesterday morning, but in the users manual, it does state to simply drive over the deck. Another reason I mount the way I do is I'm physically limited to what I can lift, having broken my back in two places. Depending on whether your B-110 is a strait 3 speed or a Variable drive will determine if you can use a 46" deck. If it's a strait 3 speed, then a 42" deck is your maximum width. There are many of us collectors up in your area. Post a wanted add on your local Craigslist, in Facebook Simplicity and Allis-Chalmers groups as well as local man cave groups on Facebook and one will show up. They're pretty common with the info I've given you. Also, join Simpletractors.com. A dedicated web sight for the preservation, collecting and keeping these old machines in operation. As you get to know your machine and the collectors, you'll end up with a long list of leads for virtually anything you could need for your Allis. Also know....Simplicity Mfg. Made the Allis-Chalmers and parts are interchangeable across many models and years. Your deck for example, you can use any 42" deck from any large frame simplicity from 1964-1970. Large frame is any Simplicity or Allis-Chalmers with a horizontal crank shaft engine and drive shaft. The smaller machines utilized vertical shaft aluminum block engines and belts for their drive systems. Email me at [e-mail] and I'll email you your tractor manual and engine manual. Cheers! Zip~

Kyle Clubbs If the B-210 is a Variable drive, then you can mount any size deck on it from the 1950's-1980's, as they all mount the same. If you have a standard three speed, you are limited to the 42" deck only. Cheers!! Zip~

Sin, thanks for stopping by! Yes, many people DO drive over the decks and although this is fine and often done, with the older decks, I err on the side of caution since the decks do tend to get stress cracks and rust over time and driving over them could cause a crack or thin metal area to give out. One deck of mine does have some thin areas and a couple cracks at the bail mounting plats at the front of the deck, so driving over that one would surely cause me a headache sooner than later. Again, thanks for stopping by and for the advice of driving over the deck for easier mounting. I just say to do this with a deck you know is structurally sound. Cheers! Zip~
