Evan is a goat, so are Hal and Jordan. The expectations for them were always sky high. I can see how easily the game became a chore for Evan, instead of fun. He did say the game could feel like a job for him sometimes. Honestly I think a nice long break from the game could have done him wonders. But that’s not possible in this current pro scene. It’s either play the game, or get left behind.

After this coming out I agree with Hal’s decision wholeheartedly. If both of your teammates aren’t putting in the same work you are i can see why that would be frustrating. He thought his team didn’t have passion anymore and did what was best for him. Best of luck to Hal but I won’t be giving up on Big E. He’s young and just went through a dark time. It felt weird cause he is cracked no one argues that, but he was going down almost every match and in ways that a gold would like me. Not the goat. Also it probably feels so scary if you want to step away from something that is probably a hogh point in ur life. The accolades, the friends and community, just having something to do and be good at it. Even if your hurting its terrifying to step away. 1. Raven wouldn’t be able to help anything about Verhulst playing more. When your strategy sucks, playing more by itself won’t fix that. Raven is not a good coach and his next few teams will show it. 2. It sucks that Verhulst stopped having drive to play the game and that can be attributed to a number of factors. I’m glad that everyone is seemingly happy with the decisions that have been made. (Aside from Raven because again, he wanted to ride that TSM wave as long as he could) 3. This is purely my conjecture but it seems interesting when Hal says he’s angry that Verhulst is playing more now. It’s almost like Verhulst has lost one of the reasons that made him not want to play 🤷🏽‍♂️😂 It seems like maybe all the behaviors that kept getting swept under the rug as “teammates banter” might not have been just that. But when you are successful, everyone ignores it until you’re not. I think Hal and Verhulst as a team was always on borrowed time, much like Sweet and Gild. Being called out by the Hindsight King after every game that goes wrong wears you down. I’d imagine watching Verhulst now he’s much more lively and the vibes are up. If he wanted to quit, wouldn’t his best opportunity have been now? Hal leaves and Raven is out. The team is in a rebuild and if you were done with the game, why go through the effort of the rebuild? 🤷🏽‍♂️ just my opinion but everyone is happy so it’s a win win

I agree with everything but Raven being a bad coach, at least during his time in TSM. Not much to say to back up my argument other than the fact all 3 players during that TSM run said he was a great coach up until the time these changes were being made. This just reinforces to me that the chemistry on TSM had soured beyond repair. You could hear it in Evan and Jordan’s voices every time Hal freaked out on them, they just sounded like all the fun had been drained out of it for them. Even Wigg has pointed out how much happier Jordan has sounded since they split. Sounds like there were a number of small things that festered until they contaminated the whole vibe. And tbh, if I have to play a game alongside some dude who’s flipping his lid and blaming me for every little mistake, even the ones he makes, I’m not going to want to play either. Kinda sucks to hear all these dudes talking smack on each other but tbh that looked like how things were going down when Hal announced he was leaving. Hard to not take “I didn’t get more money for playing with Zero and Gen, it all comes down to who I want to play with” as a bit of a slap in the face to Evan and Jordan.

Few things that came to mind for me: Even is young; saying he shouldn’t have to be told to boot up the game is wild. He is young and idk maybe NEEDS A COACH to coach him in life (or a game) *ahem* your fucking job* Next: you are the coach, a coach pretty much manages the team from what he can see in the game play, so you manage them. Managers need to have compassion for their team. Sure you could argue it’s just a job to Raven but you’d think you would want to sit down and talk to the teammate that’s failing and help them feel better in life. This isn’t an office or a kitchen job. It’s a team based video game. If a player isn’t doing well, take the time to check on them. Lastly: I keep thinking of the clip that NiceWig posted saying they were on their way back from some tournament and Evan couldn’t wait to get into the firing range and practice. That clip showed that Evan cares and that others are like “yo take a break dude”. Bonus: your mad that he said you fell off a little. Instead of taking that and thinking about it you just turned around and blamed him. Kinda crazy honestly.

Just like what happened with Wattson, if you don't want to play you need to just not play. You can't just be a like "yeah yeah I'll put in work" and not put in work or do half ass when everyone except you put in thousands of hours grinding, looking at vods, thinking of new strat, etc... This isn't elementary school where you promise your teacher that you'll do your homework and you end up not doing it and teacher just goes you naughty boy and you say "hehe". This is their livelihood and yes it's the same video game we also play but they do it for a living with a PAID SALARY. Not only is it super disrespectful to his teammates but also to all other players who would kill to get the opportunity to play in a tier 1 org with very sustainable salary and exposure. After all it's non of our business but it surprised me since I didn't think Big E was a kind of a guy to say stuff like that about his formal teammates. Maybe the stress from not performing well these couple of weeks with the new team is getting to him but hope it all gets resolved soon. my bad for the essay.

Your right but the real problem here in the orgs themselves. They need to have overseers that know what's up and think about what Raven said even he's not the head coach who has control over the roster he can't threaten the players with losing their job or being fired or dropped which Is a major issue. The esports orgs in general very rarely have any oversight and knowledge into the teams and just blindly pays players to manage themselves most times it's braindead tbh they need a manager role or head coach that can say yo Evan put your big boy pants on or leave the team this is the pros anybody would kill to be in this team with the best IGL and a chance to win, start putting in the work or your gone. That's the biggest difference in pro sports and esports in the pros you know at any second your job could get taken like that cuz there's tons of people lined up ready to go and live the dream you aren't realizing. That tends to make pros "find the passion" pretty damn quick lol 😆. It's just true it is what it is
@HiroToHero
@HiroToHero Ай бұрын
@@brandoncoleman4013 I agree. Esports system is still very flawed compared to normal sports since it’s still fairly new compared to real sports. They still haven’t fully figured out the best way to run an org and most of the times the higher ups are absolutely clueless about what’s good for the team so they kind of leave it to the players to decide which is often why players have so much say in a team. Also for formal TSM, as Hal said, not just Evan but Reps has also had the problem of just not playing the game as much as he should for a long time when he was in TSM and I guess it’s hard to keep motivated to grind. Though if it’s your livelihood you should just suck it up and do your job but again the system is not there to really enforce it to the players in some esports so what can you do 🤷‍♂️

I personally hope Evan figures out his drive, you can tell some of these streamers want more in life than to just be a “pro apex player” who HAS to sit behind a computer for 9 hours a day. No one should live like that.

I'm not gonna say being a pro apex player isn't hard because I know nothing about competing at that level, but it's a privileged position to be in. They don't have to deal with customers 9-12 hours a day while on their computer. Their job is to play a game at a high level and get paid handsomely for it

Yeah, you are right. In that case though, they should just drop out. Why be half-hearted and drag others down with you? Portraying yourself as a victim when you are indecisive is simply unfair to others who are trying their best.

Verhulst is that type of kid that would change stories based on group hes chatting just to *fit in* in that group He's done that multiple times about hal now raven Comparing your new unproven coach as close second to your former coach that made drastic changes to make the team win This is just straight disrespectful And i dont even like raven personally No matter the recent results tsm must remember the changes raven brought to the team to push them forward to success Imperialhal left respectfully thanked the team and coach Raven left respectfully did the same and both took responsibility on their loss, and didnt point 👉 fingers at anybody And now this kid taking zero responsibility calling out your former coach as washed without taking his own responsibility on mistakes he made Its straight staright delusional and most importantly very disrespectful ☝️ Now i understand even more why Imperialhal left quietly to a better committed players

bruv verhulst got asked about it. its not like he went on a rant on his own. even then he just gave his opinion in a respectful manner. he wasnt asked about himself and his well being. he was asked about raven, so even if he was part of the reason why things didnt go well, he was still just talking about raven.

“ We all fell off” doesn’t sound like someone who is taking zero accountability Evan acknowledges that everyone on the team played a part in their poor performance. He just went into detail about what SPECIFICALLY Raven did wrong You could argue that Evan should have spoken with Raven before he did the interview and asked if Raven was ok with him speaking publicly about his criticisms But also I think that Raven is a bit to sensitive. Evan has also criticized Hal and Hal took it pretty well joking it off. Ravens response was way more detailed and incriminating than what Evan said. And Raven revealed much more personal details about Evan than Evan did about Raven. Either Raven didn’t watch the entire interview before responding, or Raven doesn’t have thick skin at all. Because telling the world that you had to have multiple interventions with Evan and reveal what you heard Evan say to someone else is a very drastic response when all that Evan really said is that you loose your temper sometimes. As if the pro scene isn’t full of people with thriving careers who scream like banshee’s Evan and Raven both could have handled things better. But Ravens response was definitely worse
