Pete, Merry Christmas to you and the family. If I had a wish from the Chanel (and it's your Chanel so I don't expect it), it would be for you to stop starting new projects until you finished a few of the old. The 750 for example and the other bikes. Just focusing on what's been hanging around for years or passing them on if you're not going to get to it. Make space in your world and then smash out a big project you're keen on. I've followed you for years and you're a top bloke who knows his onions. All the best to you.

Hi Peter. Hope you have an enjoyable holiday season. Been a Cleveland fan most of my life, and its hard to find any detailed videos of rebuilds, so I for one would love to see another full build. Cam install, piston to valve clearance, anything and everything. Just scored an XA similar to Jason's, lots to do....... have a great new years.

Yes Mark we'll catch up. I still need the roof racks and I also still have the good 250 and transmission here... although I've been raiding emissions gear from it, cheers.

I can never get enough of Cleveland builds so bring it on. Re the one way clutch on the alternator, it's there to allow the spinning rotor to keep going once the engine is stopped, instead of an instant stop. the BA/BF/FG 5.4's have them. Were you also converting a Crossflow air cleaner snout to an XD/XE V8 one? Would be great to see the process incorporating the 6 cylinder stove pipe as well. And a merry Christmas to you too.

I'm guessing the parts where you annealed the door skin are more susceptible to oxidation in a similar way to the HAZ(heat affected zone) caused when welding. That's why most welding these days is done with a protective gas curtain(MIG/TIG)...

Perfect explanation and thanks.

Merry Christmas Peter from Phill with the XF Falcon may be able to shed some light on the left hand front door for you the little hole in the door was for factory speaker wires for a XF Fairmont or Fairmont Ghia or ZL Fairlane or FE LTD Keep up the great work mate
@PeterAndersons15 күн бұрын
Yes mate, I thought so and someone had used door speakers in this car as well. I'll stick with the dash speakers but will use grommets for the holes, rather than welding them, cheers.

Merry Christmas Peter, the build is really progressing fast which is great hopefully you can get some more done on the wagon aswell. What do you think of an efi swap from a Magna on the sigma later on for better economy and a much more smoother modern drive maybe an electric window swap too from a Magna I think the TM was the first Magna so would have used left over Sigma stuff
@PeterAndersons15 күн бұрын
Hello mate, EFI is a great idea; smoother, more power and a lot less hassle given the carb issues some of the Sigma's had. Not sure if the window mechanisms would fit, although you may be able to make something up with the motors and old regulators... very interesting, cheers.

Hi Peter happy new year to you and your family. Question for you on the size of fuel line as I’m in the process of transplanting a 302 Cleveland into my xe that was originally a 6 cyl efi. Do I need to upgrade the fuel line size to 3/8 from the tank through to the engine bay. May use just the mechanical pump or is it worth upgrading to the electric pump with a pressure regulator. Want to use the original thermoquad carburetor unless complications come up then I will look into other carby options
@PeterAndersonsКүн бұрын
Hey Paul, happy new year! Nope, the 5/16"fuel line from the 6 will be fine. XW/Y GT351''s used 3/8 and unless you have some fairly serious horsepower in your 302, it would be overkill. Not sure what XA/B GT's used, but I imagine XB's were 5/16. I fitted 3/8 to the XW, then when I did the XC, found out that the 351's in XC/D/E are all 5/16... leave as is, although the end will need to be re-routed to enter the bay from the LH side in front of the suspension apparatus. Funny thing is, my XD (V8) runs the line along the LH inner sill, where the XE sedan seems to come from the centre area like the 6, then off to the side. I saw it on a video on an XE ESP the GT shop was recommissioning. It shows it in the manual as well, where the utes and vans run along the sill like the XD. I'll run mine (on the ZK) the way it is on the XD to keep it away from the exhaust, cheers.
@paulelmer5119Күн бұрын
Cheers for your reply, very helpful I appreciate it. Want as much of the factory look as possible Will be making the engine bay sections and yes will be making a line go through the passenger side into where the suspension area is. Can’t wait until I get to here that v8 rumble Just a stock 302 standard headers and maybe a 2 1/2 inch exhaust whatever the legal limit is for decibels. Love the videos Keep up the good work.
