We had to do the rubber drive on our 9770 JD Header which failed in the paddock on the side of the hill, and of course nothing operates once that goes. The mechanic from Pringles Ag Services from Wudinna and another from Cummins arrived, and they said it would be going by the end of the day. Which he did so we could start reaping again. The hydrostatic was drained and removed with an articulated loader which worked well.

Zeth, I live in Ohio..I was at the farm science review today in London and they had a 1100 series JD combine on display, along with all other types of equipment. Did you replace the rear main seal on the engine while you had it out of the combine? Great video as always
@rogertucker66622 жыл бұрын
I did one of those seals last year but I pulled the gearcase . Definitely alot of stuff to take off but I don't know if the engine is easier or not. Did most of it by myself and then had to wait for about a month to get the new seal because they were unavailable . Mine the seal popped out of the small housing so I replaced the housing also.

Nothing I've seen in your nany videos suggests John Deere ag equipment is built for repairability. Diagnostics maybe OK but access, removability, etc definately sucks.
@trevorn9381 Жыл бұрын
Damn sure nothing a farmer can repair himself. There was not much on the 00 series, 20 series and the 9000 series walker machines that a farmer who took ag shop class in high school and owned a decent set of tools couldn't fix himself.

Been watching for a while and love the show...I realize that you guys are very busy but with the engine out and the radiator in clear view I was wondering why you didnt give it a quick burst of air and clean it out? It sure looked like it needed it to me. I love watching to see what is in these giant beasts and don't mind seeing a 2nd one if that is what you are doing. Thanks.

The JD engineers should be made to watch this video and be challenged to design an alternate power drive so that replaceable wear parts are much more easily accessed . The current design is flawed.
