I do like Yamaha basses a lot. I've got a TRBX505 and like the 305 aswell. Although they are versatile and good sounding basses for live or recording, they can't do what that BB does IMO. The harmonics pop out more from the BB, which helps for a more expressive tone especially when using effects. Nice comparison, the differences were evident.

Thanks for checking the video, I really dig the Yamaha basses in general, the comfort of playing/price/style and all that stuff, great basses!

@@IgorOdaryuk Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately they're so underrated by many and loved by a few. I've taken mine to the studio and some reluctant sound enginneers adviced me to instead use the "jazz bass from the house" until they actually listen to it and appreciate and compliment it's tone also for how well it sits in the mix.

Thanks for checking the video! That’s a hard question and depends on your music tastes and “bass ear” I mean we all different and there’s no “only one” bass to rule the whole bass universe :) I like BB because of a more classic sound and comfortable of playing, and on the other hand I love TRBX because of a modern sound. So it’s your turn to choose, I can’t say - take BB and you gonna be fine, take a listen both basses again and feel which one is yours!

Halo sir, i have question. do BB and TRBX has a same neck profile? Currently i'am using squier jazz bass and precision for a years and i like the neck profile (but not the tone of JB, its too dull for me), so i want to replace it to yamaha (BB or TRBX). i borrowed BB235 from my friend, i like the neck profile (but not really like the tone)
@IgorOdaryuk2 жыл бұрын
Hi! It’s a good question and I don’t know the right answer for this. The best way to find out this information - google the neck profiles, I never been a nerdy about this technical questions. I just play and then decide is it comfortable or no, it’s really the easiest way, at least for me :)

Ppl tend to forget the most important this about doing a bass demo and that's the bass. Slap is cool but I want to hear the actual bass. This shows that most of these guys are frustrated guitar players taking out their frustration on a bass. The bass should weak. I wouldn't buy even with your money
@IgorOdaryuk Жыл бұрын
Take a look closer at this video, and you can find fingerstyle too. And don't forget about the personal tastes of the author - I really like slap and there's no sense in comparing me with "frustrated guitar player" - cause they even don't know that this technique exists. The key of this video - is to show different sounds and ranges of bass using different techniques and grooves. Not to buy any of those basses, that's not my job. In this video I don't sell anything - I show the bass and play. Btw I don't need your money or even your view on this channel.
