What we did to that minejordyn server was basically an ingame DDOS attack, the server we tried to join wasn’t up yet but us clicking the item constantly sent a join request to the main server, and with everyone doing it at once it was sending too many requests and crashing the server, thus mimicking a mass DDOS.

hey zman theres a fabric mod that could help with crashing some creative servers, the mod tweekero allows for (fast right click), basically it forces the game to right click faster then ingame ticks so it like insta crashes servers if they dont have packet protection

I have an idea for the next lag machine lmao. Build a 1x1 box with a redstone ore at the bottom then start throwing exp bottles at the redstone ore. This will create so many particles that would just absolutely destroy the game performance. Line if you wanna make a server with loot boxes just offer cosmetic stuff? Like offer a server-themed GUI. Offer custom decorative blocks/player heads (I was in a server that gave out those for fishing contests). Give out custom maps so they can put a picture of their dog in their house. Give out access to a creative mode so they can build there and have it ported to survival. Give them custom name colors. I mean, the server I mentioned before had donate options with that stuff (not the gui). I was able to get pics of my fursona and pets in game, a custom name color, access to creative where they would port over my builds (not including chests or like, diamond/emerald/netherite blocks) if I wanted to. I got x amount of protected blocks. Different variations for different donation levels. I was happy to donate because I was on there daily and they never made you feel like you *had* to donate- it was optional and gave you no advantage over other players. The area protection was mostly to stop newbies from building/griefing, and to stop hostile mob spawns, as it was a PVE server.
