Basic DMX programing on a Chauvet Colorpalette part 2

Yeah of course, it is the American DJ Vision LED light and i am using the Chauvet Obey 40 DMX controller. it works fine in the 12 channel mode 1001. the 2nd dmx address which is 7 channel and is 2001 on the light fixture. is there away to set the DMX controller to read the address 2001 instead of 1001 which is the default when i turn the dmx controller on.

If you are controlling the fixtures at addresses 1 and 2 on the controller, why do you have to set the fixtures on 1 and 17?

i got 2 dmx on my light one is 1001 which is 12 channel and 2001 which is 7 channel, i want to run it on 2001 7 channel but cant figure it out on my dmx controller, i can control it on 1001 but when i switch the light to 2001 it doesn't do anything? any suggestion HELP PLEASE

continued: how to control the steady lights per channels and how to controll the auto programs it has. I want to add a strobe, a solid blue, and activate sound active mode scenes on my dmx controller, but having so much trouble. so i have a question. how hard would it be for me to control my theatre lights from dmx to about 100 to 200 different channels to make a show to lights. i have a large board that i cant move from the booth but i have an american dj practically like yours. i really need your help to figure out how to program this on stage

Hey bud, I have the obey 10. It has been so troublesome for me. How would a 3 channel light work on a higher channel of dmx? When I did get some of it to work, it is not as briliant and bright as if I hook it up to my obey 3. I push magenta and it is really nice pink, but the obey 10 has the option for the magenta, but it is much lighter and not as briliant, any susgestions? Thanks//also I do not understand all the channel stuff. I want to run my 4bar4play on it too, but can't figgure out

If you had both of those first two fixtures programmed for - let's say - DMX channel 1 then both fixtures would do the identical thing because both are using the same channel. this is why even tho the fixtures are the same the DMX channels they are assigned to are different. This allows each fixture to be controlled individually. In this video he had both fixtures doing the exact same thing (which would be the same result if both fixtures were assigned the same DMX channel.

DMX Offers control over the lights, not just basic switching or power, the co-pilot is Great though.

Each fixture uses 16 channels. When programming DMX you only set the fixture DMX address to the lowest DMX channel number...in this case channel 1 for the first fixture and 17 for the second. If there were a 3rd fixture it would be addressed to channel 33 (providing the fixture was also 16 channels). If the 3rd fixture was only 8 channels then the fixture would be set to channel 25 (17 + 8 = channel 25)

If you intend on having two or more fixtures doing the exact same thing all the time then I would just assign the same DMX channel to this fixtures and save my DMX channels for other lights.
