@@bertreviews Just to let you know after a pad swap, you will get sibilance because material doesn't off enough dampening. To remove that without wasting $40 on attentuation rings, use the simple cheap method. Get some 2 ply toilet paper, cut it out and place it on the backside between the material and the driver. Th sibilance I heard went away and didn't lose any detail. Did the same on a pair of Mee Airfi matrix originals and picked up better bass, more sound stage while retaining clarity. Used a pair of HM5 Velour's on those.

Yeah it’s very subtle with amps, and the difference between amps is much, much smaller than between different headphones. In this video you can just hear a slightly larger soundstage and clarity with the tube amp, but it is a small difference and not easy to catch. I find that the difference between amplifiers is more meaningful over long listening sessions. Appreciate your comments, and thanks for watching!

I'm considering getting the ZMF Aeolus as my Super 58X cause I love my 58X but want more. I'd like to do that! It's just not a very popular headphone and most in the audiophile community aren't fond of it. It has an unusual FR but what is often overlooked is that it works with some genres & songs. Incredible comfort. I may include it sometime & somewhere in a future video.

AHAHAH, i can't believe you made a song. You reach another audiophile level now. Also, i bought a AKG K612 PRO =D, in 2 months it'll come to my house. Thx for recommending that 240 sexttet, because i get more deeper on the AKGs and i think it is my way. Don't listen to vocals at all, i listen to more that instrumental fusion jazz, prog, idm, and love detailed highs (not exactly volume) because this frequencies make beautiful soundscapes! Synths is in my vein!

I do like both, but in my opinion, the edge goes to the Eikon for classical. Anything acoustic (ex: violin, strings, etc) the Eikon is just masterful at.

Sorry I just noticed your reply now. The D7000 is one of my fav closed back hps. I find the acoustics Magical, it is a truly hi-fi hps in my opinion. I got the Stellias Friday, and first 2 days I kept going to the D7000. But now the Stellia is getting a lot better. More refined sounding than the D7000, but it’s not yet a sphere of sound like the D7000. Hopping the Stellia really Shines, ASAP lol. I love that you liked that song! So beautiful. Oh and if you can, try the Meze Empyreans. They are better than the utopias imo. Tried both at Axpona and the empyreans sound amazing

The Eikons are much more refined than the Z7M2with greater detail retrieval. The Z7M2’s don’t have the “delicate attack” of biocellulose drivers like the Eikon. The Z7M2 are a darker headphone with huge mid-bass, the Z7M2 is a bit of a bass monster imo which really works well for genres like electronic dance music. The Eikon has better bass extension but less bass thump. Zach has perfected damping and damping is better on the Eikon than the Z7M2 (although the Z1R has wonderful damping as well). Soundstage is wider on the Eikon. Z7M2 is tuned towards modern music, Eikon excels with acoustic and classical, although it can do other genres well. The Z7M2 is lighter and more comfortable to wear, Sony ergonomics & comfort are the best in the business.
