Absolutely my favorite character of the show, and not just because she's the only genuine scientist in the cast- although that's a big part of it, I'll admit. Her line delivery was impeccable, though, delivered with (and from) a great sense of humor. Not at all the robotic line reading you might expect from someone who might understandably be a scientist first, and an actress second.

I love Mayim, and I know she has a PhD and I’m a lowly MA, but before I went to grad school I was attended the premier massage therapy school in the country. I took a statewide 3-hr licensing exam on anatomy, physiology, and pathology, and passed with a very high score; and I can tell you without doubt that the scene she references, in which Amy tells Sheldon how to do self-massage on his upper back and neck - is still wrong. So wrong that when it first aired, I was like: “What?! No!” So she may have soft-pedaled her corrections on set. Because anyone who studies human anatomy knows how wrong it was. Still love her and the show.

I've notice she's like that a lot. She says she's not an anti-vaxxer, but supports anti-vax conspiracy theories. She's also anti-cesarean section and thinks the baby should "pass away" if the mother can not give "natural birth". She says that it's against "evolution" to have a baby through C-Section. I mean, there more but this is all I have the stomach for at the moment.

Mayim's intelligence and confidence makes her orders of magnitude more attractive to me than the inane ravings of any coifed, overly-made up, anorexic supermodel. That's not to say that she's not a gorgeous woman, just that that's just ONE of the impressive things about her. It's also interesting that, many years ago when she was Blossom, most people probably never suspected that she would grow up to be such a unique and fascinating actress and personality. BTW, she's also a damn good actress.

Actually, if you are a neurobiologist, then you are also a neuroscientist, which is a broad term encompassing all scientists dealing with the study of the brain. This is the definition from Wikipedia: neuroscience is a highly interdisciplinary field encompassing study in fields such as biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, medicine, psychiatry, psychology, engineering, and mathematics. Any individual from these fields who contributes to neuroscience-related research may be considered a neuroscientist.

Michael Masson okay i'll reply to your point.. i just didn't give you the time of day because your point is stupid. there could be 1000 reasons why she's wearing glasses. contact lenses wear your eyes out so maybe she was giving them a rest, maybe this was an early morning interview and she couldn't be bothered to put contacts in. maybe she doesn't like wearing contacts and only wears them to formal occasions... its got nothing to do with intelligence whatsoever
