The zodiac stopped killing for a while throughout the movie. He just didn't destroy the lives of those he killed but the lives of those obsessed with finding his identity

As an autistic person I often have these short obsessions (special interests) and I didn't realise up until his wife started arguing with him that Graysmith was obsessed because it was all normal to me haha

Really enjoyed your analysis of this awesome movie...I disagree with one major point you make around the 4:40 mark though - that we don't get a full resolution. Fincher sets up the final scene brilliantly, over 2 hours into the film Graysmiths (ex)wife confronts him, demanding to know where it all ends '...I need to stand infront of him, look him in the eye, know that it's him.' And he does precisely that in the hardware store at the end...and we know the journey is complete. Also, Graysmith does not 'destroy' the lives of those around him in persuit of his book, sure it takes its toll on him and his family, but you absolutely cannot equate Graysmith to the killer...and I disagree that Fincher in anyway attempts to do this. Besides that I enjoyed your analysis. It's such a great film, building momentum through every scene - arriving late then turning mid-scene to a new lead, dangling new threads. I think it could be argued that Finchers greatest attribute as a director is in picking great scripts...this one for Zodiac is top class...and he improved on it. Genius.
