hahahahaha~! Ok, I went to the famous Kappabashi Street and bought a beautiful new cleaver. My BIL is a pro chef so he helped me pick one out for my chopping style and hand. I got a bunch of different kinds of Japanese curry packets from random shops all over Japan. I got tea from the Kobe herb gardens.

What a thrill it was to vicariously experience excitement for your Japanese finds, and more importantly to hear your husband has recovered well enough to have a celebratory trip.... My husband ran in the room when he heard about your husband finding the neon bag and said : I guess I'm not the only personal stylist for my wife

I just watched a video on Overconsumption and how Capitalism is ruining us all and I was like... this is so true and it sucks. And then...the algorithm gave me a Japan haul. I watched the full video and now I want to go to Japan and spend all my money... (I am trash)

If you think Socialism and Communism are better, then you have not lived through that and you have not learned about it. I did both, and I can share the nightmare of the experience. Forget about trips to Japan, living how you want, doing what you want, watching what you want, saying what you want. So try to not ignore history and failed social experiments, and just focus on all the opportunity this amazing country offers to all those willing to see it and pursue it. Much love to you.
@rose_roots10 күн бұрын
@@ldm7770 Oh, I am not saying Communism is better. I know too well how much it sucks. But, this over-consumption society we live in, is not ideal either. That's what the video I saw was saying. Food for thought :/

Hauls for the sake of overconsumption are harmful, yes, but this is a collection of items she is consciously consuming. Whether it’s a purchase of denim that will last her for years or stocking up on reusable, 'holy grail' products, sustainability isn't just about avoiding bad consumption habits but about shopping consciously and mindfully. Don’t get me wrong; I'm not advocating for hauls, but rather for thoughtful consumption. Anyway, your comment made me laugh (also just watched a video on overconsumption lmaoo)

Love the long shirtdress/pants combo. Because I am currently sewing the exact same look for myself (using princess seams for a skim fit rather than baggy) - I’m 74 years old and finding my inner Japanese fashionista 😊.

I had to wait until my mother left at the airport to watch this. She's a 106 yr old that still harps about the occupation of Korea. At 57, I realize that my mother will never change. Besides almost dying two years ago and the doctors are still shocked I am alive, my mother now talks to me and arranges to see me once a year. The wrap Hanbok dress in raw silk that I made for her, she likes. My youngest is in medical school so those three changed her heart a bit. I would so love to go to Japan. Only been there as a layover on my way to Korea and that was a long time ago. Loved seeing your haul too. I would be very dangerous at the fabric stores! Seems that everywhere has nicer fabric than the US and are usually good buys. I also got a bit crazy buying shoes because I can easily buy narrow shoes overseas.

Japanese cleansers are so thick and luxurious! Hada Labo lotion ftw. Finally got a Tirtir cushion, since I got to do a color match in person. And I got a Too Cool Art Class contour powder palette. Perfect cool tone for pale folk like me.

17:55 omg they still release soen!!! My grandfather used to receive this magazine through his work when travelling to Japan from Yemen back in the day in the 80s. They would send him directly to Yemen seasonly and my mom still have them to this day. The last pages of the magazine are pattern drafting instructions of the designs you see throughout the magazine pages. They're so easy to follow and fit so well! Im curious in the new version you have, do they still focus on providing patterns instructions?

Could wearing a man's shirt with jeans or pants successfully mimic the long shirt dress? 👩🦳🏜💛
@zoehongteaches10 күн бұрын
The thing about the look is these long shirts don't look like borrowed big clothes because the collars fit and the sleeves are the right length. So, depends on how men's shirts fit you...
