Marco said that this song was written after his therapy with his psychologist and it’s a dialogue between his two sides (due vite = two lives) of his mind : the consciousness and unconsciousness. At first I believed it was about a love story but when I found the true story behind it, it made the whole song hundreds time better and more deep.

This is one of my favorite Eurovision 2023 songs and performances. The artist sings with his whole heart and takes the time to look at the audience. This is the Grand Final performance, and he was so excited like I never saw him before! Emotional as hell! (by the way, the lyrics are about an inner dialogue between the two parts of the same soul, the brave one trying to encourage the sad one - Due Vite means Two Lifes) You can clearly hear it at the beginning of the 2nd chorus: 'sE questa è l'ultima' (on that lower note of the E his breath cracked up). It was the beginning of the end! He was so scared that I can't imagine the effort he putted to bring all the energy on his diaphragm, to the point his arm got petrified (and it's not normal for him) and we all can see how a (cute) mess became the end, shacking his powerless body and falling down. But he still finished the song, and, at least, in a moving way. You could do a series about this song performances, because it's never the same. But this one has been the hardest one for him, even if in Sanremo he was tired and with sinusite issue.

Für mich der beste Song seit langem. Eine fantastische Interpretation voll mit Gefühl. Marco hat eine hammer stimme. Der Song ist mega komponiert und arrangiert. Man kann nicht genug davon bekommen. Da ich selbst Komponist und Produzent bin glaube ich es beurteilen zu können. The shaking at the end always moves me! I don't think it was due to the stress of performing, or at least not only. In the lyrics he speaks about two lives, one of them is the psycological, hidden one, and in various interview he says that the lyrics are really personal, coming from lots of session with his terapist. Maybe he was recalling something in his head, and the feelings were so overwelming that he could not help but shaking.

Search for one of his interviews about the meanings of his lyric: he bares his soul like no other one I've seen at ESC, humble, timid and fragile but also willing to share his fears with people in the audience and let them know he is human like them. Italy has been in my top 3 this whole season and by the time he sang it in the final (which IMO was the best performance of this song that I have seen him do), he became my number one. I'm Italian and I love German, I tried to teach myself it several years ago, but my kids were so young that I was always too tired to concentrate... and it's such a difficult language! Anyway... Thanks for your video. Marco is the most beautiful male voice we have in Italy, he is known as a very sweet, sensitive and emotional guy, which makes him even more special. Experts call him an alien, because what he does with his voice doesn't sound out of this world, it's very difficult for a human being to do, he has perfect technique and he can play with his voice by changing it rapidly during the song. The songs presented in Sanremo are meant to be the best Italian song and not for Eurovision, where a different style often prevails (funny/trash songs), but this is real music and in my opinion Marco should have won, because he deserved first place. I've been listening to him since he was in the Eurovision with "L'essenziale" and in 2023 finally got a chance to go to a concert in Amsterdam, and omg he was just as good the whole live concert! I think I might have even liked his songs better live which does not happen that often for me with artists. I think it's because you can feel that not only is he a fantastic singer but also puts so much emotion and passion into his music. And I could feel all of that without even speaking Italian or understanding that much about singing even. That's big in my eyes.

Marco is a great singer. You can tell 'cause he's able to put every single person in his corner. It doesn't really matter what kind of music you're into. He's good. And despite your taste, you're gonna listen to him anyway. For example, i'm into punk, punk rock, rock or pop punk whatever... i still enjoy his voice. Plus the lyrics are very touching. I'm not that good in english, even if i can speak it pretty well, or at least people from other countries undestands me... but if you, as a vocal coach enjoy Marco's voice, that means you should understand what he's saying too. So: "We are the only ones awake in the whole universe, and i still don't know your "desert" well maybe it's a place in my heart where the sun is always turned off where sometimes i lose you, but if i want, i'll catch you we are stuck in a time like this, that lifts the streets with the sky one step away from here, we are the monsters and the fairies I should call you, tell you the things i feel but i've run out of excuses and i have no more defences. We are a book on the floor in an empy house that looks like our own coffee with lemon to fight the hungover, it looks like a blurred photo and we screwed up again one night outside a bar and thank goodness!
