Sweet Sticky Rice in Banana Leaves (Ncuav Nplooj Tsawb), Thai Dessert, Khao Thom Mud

Ingredients (halve this recipe for smaller portion):
8 cups sweet sticky rice
2 cans coconut milk (800 ml)
2 1/2 cups sugar (2 cups if you like it less sweet)
Sliced Thai bananas (optional)
10” frozen round banana leaves for wrapping
My steamer was purchase from a local store but you can check on Amazon for similar items.

Wow water is hot and that’s a lot of water, sugar and coconut milk and still let it wait that long. I hope it’s not turn out to be too sticky. I don’t like it if it’s too sticky. I just like mine to be just a little softer than regular sticky rice. I don’t like it how some people make it this kind of dessert and it’s so gluten/ sticky🤣

You can steam for for a few minutes depending on amount or microwave for 1-2 minutes.

The frozen ones are easier to work with especially if you lightly blanch it.
