I know what you mean, for me I love them all. But to be honest I just wished they kept to the gritting scary atmosphere and macarbe game design. Don't think the pinball noises help to when you pick ammo up. Plus I thought the soundtrack was far better in the trilogy, almost boadering epic towards a 70s horror design. But as I said I love them all, and iam so thankful they done another one. But I really do have more of a soft spot for the trilogy for sure. 😁

I don’t know, I just bought them for Halloween 1 or 2 years ago. Lose interest in them fast bc on ps4 the sensitivity settings are garbage and make sniping feel super slow. Always return to it on Halloween but never actually finished it.

Sparky Green trilogy was really good And worth it if you like the fourth game for sure. If you have ever played and enjoyed sniper elite v2 then buy the trilogy it’s great!

Zombie army 4 lacks the creepy atmosphere that trilogy had imo. It feels somewhat like a different game and not a continuation but it’s still good game. Maybe I haven’t warmed up to it enough to love it like the previous title.

Exactly, He was my favorite character for a number of reasons. 1: The fact he was never a Nazi, just fighting for his family. 2: That he fighting the undead, being German himself. I mean, you ever see only one German soldier that's not infected in the base in Berlin. 3: Him having a family makes him sympathetic. He fights to protect them from the undead and in every mission, you can only hope they're still alive and safe.

Love both games. However I wonder why Hermann Wolf was scrapped in this one as well as the female versions of each member. I also wish the explosives were as effective as they were in the original. I can only assume the radius was reduced due to what seems to be a lower enemy count in any given map.

I personally loved ZAT, but ZA4 is a bit of a mixed bag for me. You stated that the character movement has been improved, but for me it feels a bit floaty. I do like that weapons can be upgraded, but some of the upgrades feel cheap. For example, in ZAT I could get any sniper rifle and automatically have various zoom options. In ZA4, the zoom is minimal at first and further zoom options are hidden behind the upgrade system (WTF!?). The new levels feel nice, but the new X-ray cam feels off to me. I also don't mind the micro-transactions, but I feel some of them (more weapons) should have been included in the game. The perk system feels kinda unnecessary, but not too bad either. Am glad there are new zombie types though. ZA4 also feels like its missing something, that I can't quite put my finger on.

@@ravenlover7924 That (lacking scary atmosphere) is probably what it is. It doesn't feel natural nor ominous, but feels like its way too structured (artificially) for horde-mode. Of course the others were structured too, but they felt more natural, but in ZAT 4 its blatantly obvious.

I also miss that if you don’t play with a mic on ZAT you heard zombie Hitler talking. That scared the piss out of me when I first heard that on zat. And that is also why i don’t like ZA4. It feels more like shooting agains regulars nazis instead of zombies because it’s not scary

Ye I thought that when I had to bloody read about it cause I thought eh wtf cant I zoom in? The default scope feels like 3rd zoom lvl on highest scoped rifle, kar98, gehwer43 etc this is too far for default you think this is minimal? I played this on pc the first nazi zombie army 1 and za4 scope says x3 x1 is minimum not x3 cause zoom levels goes up as you know and added bullet drop from battlefield into this another cool mechanic but za4 is mainly close quarters to medium distances overall, there is odd section were x8+ would be useful.

Talking about, visual style... I still prefer the original zombie army than the trilogy and dead war. Especially in the the first 2 chapters in episode 2, it had that warmer red-yellow-ish color in the burning forest. Too bad, it was dropped in the trilogy. The style might be more consistent, but i love to have more variation than a single gloomy feel in every chapters.

Zombie army 4 is a lot harder than zombie army trilogy but playing the ps4 version of both games freaks me out. Random German is said in zat when you die a lot or progress further in the game. In zombie army 4 if you pause the game for a while you'll either hear laughing or freaky girl kids voices saying come back to us.

I'm a huge ZAT fan and the originals are in my top games of all time but I don't get the same feeling with ZA4. The sniping doesn't feel as crisp and it's definitely more strange brigade inspired. Micro transaction... 😢😰 Overall I give Zombie Army 4 a 6.5/10 and the original always gets a 9.5 ✌️

They have added too many options for the controller i think. NZA trilogy was straightforward and simple. Kill zombies, get ammo from their corpses etc. Now you have to wait to open a freaking box to pick a grenade

I want the kick back. That stomp is no effective at clearing away a few zombies without using ammo. The suicide bombers now take you out if you let them explode right next to you. Adds spice to the game. The look of both games is fine. I find some of the sound effects irritating in 4 like they raided a pinball machine to get them. The music in both is fun but I don't find myself humming along with 4 like I did the trilogy. The weapon choices, while smaller in 4, include my favorites so I don't mind and the shotgun is much improved in the form of the trench gun. I lost the G43 at the beginning by accidentally swapping it with a dead zombie and couldn't find it in the list to add back later so be careful what you do with pickups. I love them both!

yeah as far as sound design goes I think I like the sound of the weapons in the Zombie Army Trilogy games more, the 12 gauge shotgun is my weapon of choice and I love the beautiful explosion ring of the shotgun in the trilogy games, the sound of the ZA4 shotguns just don't compare lol

grenade in ZA4 sounds like a minor explosion, meanwhile on ZAT grenades are loud and have this "ding" to it which reminds me of the m1garand pop :D (not sure if its realistic tho)

He didn't even talked about the OST on both games. That's a key element in ZAT. Prone was also very helpful for killing LMG Nazis so I totally disagree with you. A prone position will always give the shooter a more accurate shot and that's how It feels on ZAT. ZA4 seems like a step back on various elements despite looking fun to play. They looked for a younger audience. It will take a time for me to buy this one with all this DLC BS.

I hope when they do another zombie game they make the game like the main series. Large free roam map with many objectives and zombies littering about and roaming instead of the zombies being set peices for scripted events. They could use the sound system as it would be more of a concern since in the main game shoot 3 times and the enemy will pin point your location. The sound systen would be perfect for zombies. Shoot once, a small horde investigate, shoot twice the horde moves faster and grows, shoot three times and boom the entire map of zombies collide to that area. It would make sound masking far far more important and make hiding very essential and I think fun in a large map

Wow, the sound design is way weaker in Zombie Army 4. I also miss the cool soundtrack from Zombie Army Trilogy. ZA4's music just doesn't do it for me. The gameplay seems to be more grounded in Zombie Army Trilogy, zombies were way more frightening in the old game. Lack of weapon variety is also a downer in ZA4. On the other hand there are way more zombie types in ZA4, which is great. But why is the hud so overloaded now?

Ok I have 70 hours in and the game is still good, campaign is fun, but it's best in coop with MAX ZOMBIES, HARDEST DIFFICULTY. For a challenge set the max number of people to 3 or 2, and max out the zombies.. team work is key, some mission zombies will keep spawning badguys until the obj is completed which could cause frustration because of random players, also selfish people could make it frustrating because gear should be split up amongst our friends, Eg. Medkit mostly, grenades , and special attachments. Trolls can be banned easily. Met only one Uranus lasted 5 min out of the total gameplay. Learn your abilities and TEAMWORK I CANT STESS ENOUGH. BUY THE SUPER DELUXE VERSION YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IN SPENDING 50 TO 60$ FOR EVERYTHING! AND A LOAD OF RANKS AND LEVELS TO BEAT. STILL HAVNT COMPLETED THE LAST 3 LEVELS. JOIN ME

You ain't lying they just added the brutal difficulty and it's no joke. I always play the hardest diff, with the max amount of zombies and playing by your self on canals is absolutely Impossible. You need a team mate or 2 just to wipe the fodder before the heavies come in

Never played the trilogy and haven’t played something like this since left 4 dead on the 360. I’ll enjoy going through my copy of zombie army 4 plus I’m just your typical gamer and ain’t to picky.

I just started playing Zombie Army 4 and I got through a few checkpoints and I will say its quite a bit more complicated than the Zombie Army Trilogy, I can't quite say yet if thats good or bad for this, its something I just have to get used to, the games before this were pretty simply you just shoot, pick up weapons and ammo, kick zombies and open doors, but so far the actual gameplay is still pretty much the same just now there is a leveling up system which looks pretty interesting

😮 lots of nice changes in "Zombie 4" They even have added Left 4 Dead characters into this game. Awesome throwback. The "Season Passes" are great for easily unlocked (locked) content. The first one is free, 2nd is about 30$ No complaints here.... Huge amount of content available after purchasing.

The zombie in trilogy is also hard they're trying to avoid straight movement into player more like they doing a zigzag move.
