Are the zombies a lot weaker than their rating? The highest bot I’ve been able to win against without hints/undo’s was the 1600 (Isabela I think?) and only barely. And now, I just beat Zombaru in only 3 tries. As black, too.

Was' really fun watching this live as the seemingly randomized skill of the bots kept it interesting! It's weird how they play because it's almost like at first they play strongly with book moves and such. Then all kinds of random hiccups come in which are so off beat it's entertaining in itself. Yet they can get back on track like a pro soon after too. The only exception seems to be Zombaru which seems to make the least obvious hiccups as he's almost like a continual puzzle, but will pounce on just about any of your mistakes viciously. Speaking of, as an update to my messages in chat too (if you remember): I finally managed to beat Zombaru today! On my first try of the day actually. Maybe the other times I tried it I was tired (caught' some cold) and wasn't thinking like normal because it went pretty smooth.

They mimic the non-zombie versions of the people they represent, but they play at a lower level. I'm not sure how much research goes into it, but I've heard that the bots made to mimic real people actually take some data from their games (e.g. most common openings, strength in opening vs. middlegame vs. endgame, etc.)

They have much more power early on an can absolutely crush you. But later on they fluctuate and sometimes play less botlike moves

I think you're capable of sub 10. Go super aggressive gambit style against the early bots and then play solid against the Nepo and Hikaru Bots. Hell, without that ugly premove, this run could've been close to 10. What I'm saying is, we need a sub 10 minute run and I think you can do it! Let's go!

I beat Zombiattchi with the Quaade Gambit trap I learned from one of Eric's old videos. Checkmate in 19 moves. I was so happy. I finally beat Zombaru with white after multiple losses. Still trying with black but no luck yet.

Also did a zombie bot speedrun, but lost one to Zombaru first. I swear, these bots are harder than most human opponents at their rating range. While they definitely make some blunders that humans wouldn't make, they are just deadly with tactics. I'd never play this fast against them for fear I'd be blundering a tactic!
