This is really cool, thank you for your interest. We had fun back in the day. Stu invited me and reckless up on stage a few months ago in Sydney and we played some old ZGT acoustic. We love all of our fans and thank you for the video.

I also enjoyed them when I saw them. My band, The Arkhams played a show with them in Brooklyn, and we all really enjoyed it. Their vocals are incredible!

If they put out Glad Rags and Body Bags again, I bet it would sell out. There a couple of copies of this for sale, but people want hundreds of dollars for them. They are one of my favorite bands from the whole greater psychobilly genre. And yes, I discovered late, and now I can't own any of their music. I love all their albums, but the entire Glad Rags album is just a rockin' pleasure to listen to. I have visions of listening to it rockin' out in my 1966 Ford F-100 that is rust and primer with a sweet cream and tan plaid interior.

What a great video! I had the pleasure of opening for Zombie Ghost Train with my band, The Arkhams when they came to NYC in 2006. They are very nice people and put on a killer show! They played the Drop Dead Fest that year and had a killer show with us on Brooklyn as well. I think it was at Hank's Saloon, which sadly is no longer there after the pandemic.

I also discovered them after they broke up, Night Time Crawling and Long Dark Night my two favorites, great band, power trio, dark but funny about it. Dude's voice is amazing, whole band is super solid and the tunes are well written. Thanks for the video. They're a band I love that seemingly just got missed or forgot or something👍

You hit a nail on the head! Songwriting is king, and they really nailed it, especially in a sea of acts that follow formulas for the most part! I wish I got to know them more, as they only came to the USA once!

Psychobilly. They were rolling strong for around 5 or 10 years, but the scene died away, because it was pretty specific. (You were either in it- or you weren't.) They were running neck and neck with the New Wave Teddy's, and a lot of us stayed hard with them, as the posers started incringing. The scene was strong for easily half the decade, and we started seeing it fall apart in around 2010/2011. It was fully dead by 2015. Shout out to Big Daddy Bibtard, you marvelous bastard! I Hope you're still alive out there!

It was still going In 2015 and 16 with overseas bands like os catalepticos batmobile gorilla coffin nails frenzy asmodeus and a few others coming down until covid really. The backyard psycho scene died in 2017 id say but once covid hit it just bombed and really hasn't recovered

I don't think psychobilly died. In the USA, it morphed into a few other sub-genres that I play quite a few shows with over the years. It's got a unique rhythm to most of the songs, but I think that once you remove the narrow subject matter of most of the songs, it's just great punk rock with a certain feel and rhythm. You can take it in a lot of different directions

@richardanthony767 I don't think so. In a classical sense, yes, but music is supposed to evolve and other influences are supposed to come in and inform the direction of the music. I play a blend of psychobilly with other aspects very alien to that whole world that my friends have come to expect from me, and I'm playing it all across the continental US on tour perpetually since March of 2023. The first night of tour, my band, The Arkhams and my one-man band both got to open up for The Meteors in Brooklyn and then NJ. What I'm seeing across the country are acts informed by the mainstays of the genre, adding their personal touch to it, or using aspects of it to inform their own feel to the music. Just listen to such amazing acts as The Goddamn Gallows, Hypno-Techs, Yotes, Uncle Mounty, Sister Wife Sex Strike, Run Rabbit Run, Boss Daughter, Distortions (NC triangle band) Swamp Rats, Fishgutzzzz, Scott Biram, Bloodbelly Blues or Apes of the State. All of us have an obvious influence of psychobilly along with many other genres and styles to pull from. We forge our own musical path while soaking up the influences of this amazing, life-changing genre of music!

I found out about Zombie Ghost Train when I had to do a presentation in my english class and bought the album "Glad Rags & Body Bags" with 15 as well. I found "Dealing the Death Card" as well! I really loved and still love the music. But I never found any other psychobilly/ gothabilly? (is that correct?) music like them! Any recommendations?? Also I love the video of yours! You did an awesome job!

Captain Reckless, along with Azzy-T if I remember correctly, were briefly in a band called Captain Reckless and the Lost Souls! I can only find one song of theirs, "We Pulled You In," which can be listened to on the website ReverbNation. There are also a few live videos of them on KZbin, but the quality isn't too good. They've got a horn section and it's real interesting! My favorite Zombie Ghost Train songs are Dark Times, 13 Tears, Night Time Crawling, and Blue Moon of Kentucky!

I saw ZGT countless times between 2003 and 2005, mainly at the Empire Hotel at Annandale, Sydney. As a crusty mohawked punk it was always fun to hassle them as they did their pretty make up and hair in the toilet before the gig! They were always in good humour and their gigs were always fun, especially the Ska versus Rockabilly nights. 3 bands from each genre playing one after the other with the winning genre decided by the loudest claps and cheers at the end. Lots of beer and not much sleep... fun times! I bought Monster Formal Wear at one gig, the merch stand was being run by the drummer's mum. I played that CD to death. I miss it. My favourite song was whatever Misfits cover they did on the night but they stopped doing that around 2004. I kept requesting it though, they would laugh and apologise.

I honestly don't remember. I was 15 hahaha You can always use a video to MP3 converter, download each song from YT and burn them onto a CD. I dunno why it's so hard to find now. eBay could be a good option, as well.

It was only 2 days ago that I discovered ZGT. I have to say that I'm all in. My normal lanes of music are Hardcore Punk,Death Metal & Black Metal so the fact that the algorithm fed me ZGT is kind of a trip. Fate maybe. Proof that I need to look around a little. Anyway, enough of my jibba jabba. Thanks for the video, although finding out that ZGT is no more is a real downer. That means that I cannot see them live.👹💀👹

Awesome! Yea, psychobilly is one of my top genres along with black metal. Dark Funeral is my favorite! Definitely sucks that ZGT isn't together anymore. Also, not sure why my older videos are starting to go through the algorithm but hey! If it broadens the horizons then I'm all for it! Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it. And thank you for reminding me I should cover more awesome bands! Keep it rockin' 🤘🏻

@@RockinPinUpSarahVeda You are welcome. It's funny that you mention Dark Funeral... I'm wearing one of their shirts right now. People up here in the mountains where I live don't know what to make of me and what I wear. Suits me fine. What I'm tending to like best about rocka/psychobilly is the spartan nature of the bands themselves and how they perform live. Just the music is what I'm interested in. I think about Iron Maiden. Great they may be, I don't go to concerts to see a Broadway musical. I wanna rock. Anyway, enough of my jibba jabba. Keep on rockin' mamma!!!!🤘👹💀👹🤘
