@@thefilmwatcher1302 true, if Sony did it they would make him be a second Scarecrow, using some smoke that causes fear and they also would probably use his design from the ultimate universe, which I in my opinion is the worst Mysterio design of all of them, if someone told me that this was supposed to be Mysterio I wouldn't believe, it's the same problem I have with Venom's design in the movie, they removed the Spider symbol, which should make sense but doesn't because Venom's symbol isn't a Spider, it has been revealed that the symbol in Venom's chest is actually a dragon, so even without Spider-Man Venom should have the Dragon symbol, this makes me realize that the writers (SONY) haven't read the Venom comics, and if I remember correctly this was revealed BEFORE the movie came out, this straight up convinced me that Sony doesn't know what they're doing with their characters, this remembers me of one time when Avi Arad (the guy who works with the Spider-Man movies) said that they wouldn't make Venom 2 be R-rated because according to him Carnage is a poor soul, not a really cruel villain, and this just makes me mad, Carnage's whole thing is that he is pure evil, his name is literally CARNAGE, he doesn't kill people because he is forced to, he kills people because he wants to, he likes it, if they try to make fucking Carnage a relatable villain I will walk out of the theater. Sony did a great trilogy with great villains before because Sam Raimi knows how the Spider-Man villains work, Sony clearly doesn't, TASM 1 was ok but then SONY tried to make a cinematic universe and the second movie is just hot trash, like I'm ok with people changing stuff about a certain character, for example I'm fine with Vulture being changed, because he still FEELS like a Spider-Man villain, I actually like the changes, but in the moment Sony tried to make Spider-Man have his parents be the reason why HIM and only HIM can have his powers goes totally against what Spider-Man is about, Stan Lee himself said that what makes Spider-Man great is that he is just a random guy who suddenly got powers, sure he is intelligent but not even close to people like Reed Richards or Tony Stark, even Peter himself admitted that Norman Osborn is twice as smart as him, there are several What Ifs and alternative realities talking about other people getting the spider powers instead of Peter, like Betty Brant, Flash Thompson, Gwen Scacy, Harry Osborn, John Jameson, even fucking Norman Osborn. Marvel knows how Marvel characters work, because they're MARVEL CHARACTERS, sure they made some mistakes in the past (Thor 2, and Mandarin in Iron Man 3), but they learned from their mistakes and got way better with time instead of rebooting everything, for example Mandarin in the Shang Chi movie was amazing, this is why they called Sam Raimi to make Doctor Strange 2, if I remember correctly Sam Raimi already said that he is a Doctor Strange fan, he knows how the comics work, this is why I'm excited for this movie.

Thanos only changed a scene and discombobulated a few people with it while Mysterio would be a psychological nightmare. This is probably my favorite scene from any superhero movie. It's easily the best "mask off" moment for a twist villain I have ever seen, and the ways Mysterio uses Peter's insecurities to put him through gruesome psychological torture is absurdly creative. Same here. The sound effects and music worked so well on theaters especially the last part. The music getting louder making you feel stressed, the sudden silent part lasts just long enough to make you confused. Then comes the train horn. I can't remember a time where a train horn sounded so frightening, or a jump scare scene that left me impressed.

Saying if Peter had been good enough for Tony to still be alive is a weak use of words and a weak attempt to make the audience feel something with that line. It's stupid because Peter had just been brought back from the snap and had just gotten involved with the Avengers in the final fight. How was Peter supposed to know everything that had been going on? There was no time to build up to any of this to make Peter have a reason to actually feel failure for being incapable of saving Tony. And even worse, there are other Avengers who were involved as well; why is it only Peter that is being put in this level of guilt that Mysterio is talking about. What Mysterio said is just some weak attempt to make the audience feel something and it didn't work for me. When watching the movie, I don't understand why people in the movie theater were so silent in shock when Mysterio said this to Peter; I can't believe everyone actually fell for this crap.

One of the coolest scenes in the MCU really loved this take on mysterio I remember when he was announced to be the villain I was like “seriously the guy who just did a bunch of cheap parlitrix in the comics is who they choose?” But they really knew how to make him seem so threatening and paring him with using advanced illusion tech to fuel his illusions was brilliant.

This scene is amazing as is, but I do think it could be perfect if Peter mentioned not being able to save Uncle Ben in a previous conversation. Then Mysterio uses that to his advantage to use Tony as a pillar to mess with Peter and making his question his morals by bringing up Uncle Ben. Saying something among the lines of “You weren’t good enough back then, and you’re not good enough now, what makes you think you’re such a hero?” Again, this scene is amazing, but they had a great opportunity to bring up Ben and they blew it IMO

I really like, that his powers force Peter to gain finally full control of his spidersense and spider powers. To defeat Mysterio, he could no longer rely on his eyes and ears, so Mysterio helped him in the end become full on Spiderman. I also like, that he essentially had no powers. Mysterio was a team of people controlling a bunch of drones and holograms, which has proven to be really deadly and really impactfull for peters life. I do hope we still get Mysterio, but with new team and new 'impostor' leading the group after Beck died, even for a quick fight in some bank or something in the beggining of the movie, when the group just wants to gain money for a living now, like classic mysterio robbery or something, when they are no longer driven by 'higher' purpose xd

Fun fact : Instead of using Tony’s latest suit (mark 85), they instead chose to use mark 46 which was used in civil war. It is unknown why they chose this, but i think that its just because it was spider mans first real fight with him (And no, iron man 2 wasn’t even a team up, it was just Tony protecting him).

At 0:26, Peter is jumping off a well known landmark to save MJ, at 0:40 Peter is going through broken mirrors through New York (mirror dimension), at 1:10 there is multiple spiderman"s in one scene yet here they go from nice to hostile. For years, I've gotten, "What?"s and, "Why not _____?"s when I've said my favorite Spider-Man villain is Mysterio. For years, he's been the butt-end of jokes and considered to be a low C-list villain, only out of the D-list because of his occasional appearances in the Sinister Six. For years, no one has understood why I love the guy so much. But this scene...this one scene...convinced them. They saw this and said, "Dude, I get it now." This right here is the best adaptation of a lesser-known villain the MCU has ever done, even above Thanos and Vulture. This is Mysterio at his finest: taken seriously. And nothing has made me happier. Now I can only imagine what the Sinister Six will look like. Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Electro, Vulture, and Mysterio. All of them attacking at once? Oh my fuck, that is going to be beautiful. Edit: Okay, now it's Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Lizard, Electro, and a mystery character. I still hope it's Mysterio, though I can't say I'd be dissatisfied with Vulture or Scorpion.

Mysterio is a great villain in my opinion because he’s honestly not that powerful. He knows this, and preys on Peter’s insecurities and relationships while producing illusions to mess with him physically. That manipulation is smart because it can cripple a person way worse than just beating them up. Peter is gonna have the thought that maybe he wasn’t good enough to save Tony in the back of his mind, probably forever.
