What you were saying about Chainsaw Man and JJK being similar is mostly just because they're battle shonen (or at least start as them) and heavily inspired by other animes/mangas. Most shonen have a very similar premise because it's what fans know/like so they atart like that then make their own identities as they go. Hell's Paradise definitely has the most distinct idea of the three, it's also the least popular though (probably because it's not super standard). It still had enough similar beats to get serialised though, I think if it lost those similarities it wouldn't've been picked up Personally my favourite of the three is JJK, I love a lot that Hell's Paradise does too, but some of it loses my interest (mainly in the final big arc of the manga). And unfortunately I wasn't able to get into Chainsaw Man

I still get disgusted every time with regards to Gabimaru's Wife's Father burning his daughter's face like that. It makes me so angry every time I hear that. But you really get a sense of Gabimaru's character that it doesn't bother him any and he really does want to live for his wife. Love this series and enjoyed your reactions to this episode! from my side of view, the animation from mappa is near peak in this anime, the opening alone is a masterpiece. i dont know why so many people have to complain about some still good animation, there are better examples for much worse animation quality.

There were some rough spots here and there but what do you expect when you have overworked, underpaid, and sleep deprived animators still giving it their all. Even with that being the case the animation can be quite breathtaking at some points.

Sword testers get handed new swords that are to be believed to either be really good or come from famous smiths or have famous history or smiths that wands to make a name for themselves. Sword testing is a skill as you need to have repeatable results with the same sword, you need high accuracy and control of your power to deliver repeatable results to display a difference in the quality of swords. They also function as executioners as they actually used prisoners to test the swords, at times the prisoners were dead at times they were alive. What they also did was to use several prisoners bound together at once, to see how many bodies could be cut down in a single swing. Legend has it that the record is 8 or 9 bodies at once if I remember correctly.

I found Chainsaw Man is more bloody horror/ slasher and I’m not drawn to them for some reason. Remember I mentioned that I’m reading the manga. I can’t buy them through the Viz nor Shonen Jump apps. I have to purchase them from the stores, but Chainsaw Man can be read through the Shonen Jump app. Though that might be because the implied sexual scenes and naked women from the chest up in Hell’s Paradise manga. Also I was comparing Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen as the other two that were watched by Luke.

The reason Chainsawman & Jujutsu Kaisen may feel very similar is the author of both are fans of each others work, so they have been inspired from each others work. But I totally get what you are talking about how they feel very similar and not be similar at the same time. But they both have that serious scenes and funny scenes and they feel like they placed without feeling awkward.

I mean they started pretty close to each other, and I know JJk started first with the Gege's main influences being HxH and Bleach. They might've been inspired by each other later, but early on they wouldn't have anything to be inspired by if they were fans of each other (I know they are somewhat fans now, it just doesn't make much sense for them to both be inspired by each other at the beginning since one was first and there wasn't enough to be inspired by)

*Hell's Paradise,* *Chainsaw Man* & *Jujutsu Kaisen* are part of the Dark Shounen Trio & so far from what I've seen in the anime, I liked Hell's Paradise the most, one of the very reason is the story being heavily character driven, with alot of Action Shounen you'll see them being mostly plot driven but in Hell's Paradise you get a simple plot & a proper execution on that but what makes it appealing are the characters, they are all really well written & the way you see them understanding each others' ideologies & legacy towards perticular concepts make it looks Brilliant & REFRESHING 🤌🏼

Day 90 of recommending the Beyblade openings. There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!

I would say the main similarity of this to Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen is that the main character is reprieved from execution because of a stipulation, goal that they must complete. Funny enough, this is the only one that makes it seem like he might be allowed to live after. So...there's a through line I guess? :D

This is the weakest anime in the Dark Trio in my opinion but it's still not bad. I think after this you should consider Heavenly Delusion cause it is definitely the most underrated banger of the Spring 2023 season.

Jigokuraku suffers from a lot of problems like bad character writing, most of the characters have little to no character to them and it doesn't help that the first half of the season is spent info-dumping their extremely generic and uninteresting backstories The only good thing in Jigokuraku is the Shinsekyou (lore, monster designs and the general vibe of the place) but that doesn't really safe the show Now Jujutsu Kaisen itself isn't particularly consistent with quality. Some parts are good like episodes 3-4, Junpei arc and maybe the last episode of the 1st season; some are very generic and unappealing (basically the rest of the 1st season) and some are actually great like episodes 1-5 of 2nd season) Jigokuraku is average at best unfortunately and doesn't have these parts like JJK when it actually gets good. The 1st and 8th (?) episode maybe could stand on their own + the plot twist from the last episode was some actual interesting writing, but I'm pretty sure authors gonna backpedal on that one, so I'm not holding my hopes up

This anime was very mid, it started out pretty good but I couldn't even bother watching the last few episodes.
