Yep, it's even better to watch as someone who've seen idol anime before (only saw Love Live tho). One example would be the Slapping the Leader Scene. Every time an idol group (or in any similar types of groups like shounen I guess) faces a set back, the leader usually does one of two things: inspire the other members through her leader aura, or show weakness and consequently get fixed back up by the other members (you could call it characterization on both the leader and its members I guess). A self established trope on Love Live is when the leader goes to the latter option, someone slaps her. That usually is enough to wake her up (worked 2 out of 2 times) . Now what's peculiar about how this situation, wherein the group faces a huge challenge, is handled in this show is just absolutely fantastic. MC (Sakura) spends some time low spiritedly thinking about it until she finally had an answer. She was on her way to option number 1, aaaand then before she could start, she got slapped. Basically, she chose action number 1 but got the result intended for number 2. That blank face she had was just funny as hell, it was a literal (or metaphorical actually) slap to the usual Leader Inspires Group Members trope.

Yeah, her VA said that Tae experienced familial love at the end of season 1, when Sakura suffered amnesia, which is what allowed her to wake up. But, looking at the Gaiden manga, and the injuries she sustained, it seems like she can't do as much as the others, and still comes off as zombie-like due to her limited abilities. To be honest, I sometimes have days where I can't do as much either, and I've been told I sulk around like a zombie. But I learned to manage during those days, at least somewhat, so it's likely that Tae could eventually learn to talk, if only a little.

I'm never a fan of idol anime like Idolmaster. But when I start watching the anime Zombieland Saga, I started to enjoy it. The sheer ridiculousness of the situation and the cast are all hilarious. The rap battle, IMO, was pretty cool. The manager is plain cooky but I like it. Its funny and I recommend people giving it a shot. Its pretty silly but in a good way.

I just started an interesting show. It's about 7 girls who try to become regional idols. Their boss is a little crazed and does wild things for no discernible reason. Their first live concert was an impromptu appearance at an open stage where anyone could sign up and perform. It's pretty funny in places, touching in others. I probably wouldn't have watched it except after Zombieland Saga I was willing to give the genre a try now and then. It looks surprisingly familiar. I think Zombieland Saga, in part, may have been made as a satire of Wake Up Girls.

The character designer for Zombie Land Saga also worked on another idol anime earlier this year but had a like a “dive into the music industry” meshed with drama that’s all wrapped up in it. Well, the manager and Okabe Rintarou do have the same voice actor ^^ It was the first thing I immediately looked up after the first episode, and the voice actor undoubtedly took inspiration from his own performance as Hououin Kyouma.

I remember seeing a description for this show, and it mentioned nothing about idols and had a horror tag, i don`t like depressing shows that much I generally avoid depression, but i tuned in since it peaked my interest, it started like a horror anime then it became just what I couldn't explain it. it was 100% a horror anime. my mind was fucked after i watched in shock when it turned into a horrifically funny comedy series. its the opposite of that one show that wont be named, where a certain best girl turned out to be fucked in the head and the world was not as it seemed but filled with zombies.

It's like a parody of idol anime and I love how crazy it is. I hope it doesn't becomes a serious idol anime as the series go forward. I'm also a bit scared that the show will feel draged out since I enjoy it so much right now.

i had once read this manga before turns into anime show... that manager koutarou is a lame vampire who wanted to built his own idols. if you see his eyes on the manga it similar to hollow form ichigo kurosaki "black-red eyes" the reason he was always wearing a black tinted glasses as a secret.. after that he discovered how to make up at set on his first movie show "frankenstein in early 1930s"

What I like about Zombieland Saga is that rap battle that Sakura and Saki had. And the voice actresses like a few of them, they're just barely into the game. Like they're in their 20s. I've seen them on KZbin with that rap battle and they had to put on makeup to look like the characters from the show.

I like that the manager is actually an immortal that has witnessed (or even had something to do with) the deaths of these girls, so he ressurrected them into zombies to (become idols?) I don't know, maybe I'm not high enough.

I literally watched about zero hours of any kind of anime until a friend of mine came up and strait-up told me that one of the new shows he was watching killed off the main character about a minute and a half into the first episode. Then showed me the clip of her getting pile-driven by a van. Needless to say, it was the first time I went through the trouble of searching that series up. It's stupid in countless ways, but it just fucking works. I love it.

Green Acres was an absurd series (rich folks moving to the country and living among very eccentric neighbors) and is a comedy classic. Zombie Land Saga is just as irresistible ...absurd in the idol girls first dying in unglamorous ways before their time (hit by truck, struck by lightning, crashing off a cliff, plane crash, heart attack from growing facial hair) and trying to become idol stars with a ranting mad scientist for a producer and yet the characters are funny and sympathetic in getting a second chance at life and trying to make good...and the Legendary Tae Yamada having stage presence and being popular just by being a groaning flesh craving zombie. Very charming show.
