Hello Peter, one of my earlier efforts I think I improved quite a bit (audio and overall) with the M8 tripod review I did. At the time though I was a bit frustrated by the tripod videos I usually saw - problem being you don't really see the tripod! So I decided to do close up shots and show it in more detail v the usual presenter style don't get to see it videos. I still have this and use it almost every day, tabs on the bag zips broke off (bit weak) but apart from that it's still doing the job pretty nicely. Funny thing is I have a K&F concept tripod next video up, carbon so I'm working on that today! Appreciate your feedback and comments very much

Great vid! Do we know what size that male to male screw that combines the monopod together is? Is it 3/8" size?

I gave the tripod to a friend so can't check, I think it is 3/8 size though

I had this same tripod for a year before it gave up on me. The internal plastic 'washers' that hold the carbon poles in place when adjusting disintegrated, so you can no longer slide the legs out without having to dismantle the whole section. I used the tripod for landscape photography but always kept it clean and grit free - unfortunate that the weakest part of the tripod is a tiny, brittle piece of plastic! I've tried to track down replacement parts - but no luck so far.

So far I've not had a problem with that have you contacted Zomei about it maybe they can get spare parts out

Mr Baz Reviews keep an eye on them - they’re quite weak. But, yes! Contacted Zomei who said they’ll send out some replacement parts - hopefully there will be sturdier 👍

I'm going to get one, the up-market stores around me that sells those camera bits and bobs are way too costly. I'm hoping it turns out to be the dog's bollocks and not a pile of cobblers.

It's a good buy at least compared to big name makers you can get the magnesium one for less but I like the weight reduction with the carbon. Not had any problems with this not too heavy for travel and very sturdy. The Velbon in the video is a great tripod too for macro/low down work I use this one out and about often. Camera stuff has gone up hugely in the last year bodies, lenses everything even batteries. Best to hunt about many third party makers for accessories. Seems to be Yen currency related but I think some increases are well above that

Q111 is not bad for an entry tripod better than some of the ones I've tried . If budget is low then it's OK to get going, though not nearly as good as this one. Z818C is the way to go it's not that expensive really if you price up a manfrotto it will cost a lot more. They make nice tripods but I think for many some of the well known makers are very overpriced. Velbon Sherpa range is quite good for affordable tripods You could try this if you want carbon it's a little more compact but similar to the Q666 amzn.to/2ox63Ap

Yeah I sorted the sound/video quality out quite a bit in more recent videos. I still use it this tripod it's pretty good for the price

good morning, do you think it is possible to put a head for video (Manfrotto MHXPRO-2W 2-Way) or will there be some kind of complication?

Shouldn't be any issues according to the Manfrotto site it has a 1/4″ thread which is the same as the thread on this one.

Hey would you recommend this or the innorell RT55c? I feel this one would be better coz its obviously a bit cheaper but heavier which is better, and extends higher

I've not used the RT55C but digging around a bit this looks slightly taller (if specs are correct). Also I can't see the short column if it's included and it is with this, if you put the tripod down very low you might want to swap it out - could be a factor. There look to be very small differences in design from what I can see. I have another Zomei coming in soon to look at but it's not carbon

Thread is 3/8 inch most heads will fit many come with an adapter you screw ie most take 3/8 and 1/4 but check the specs smaller ones might just be 1/4

I prefer this for general use, but the M8 comes into it's own for macro or if you want to extend the column outwards/forwards say on a table/desk. They are quite different really for travel the 818C is a good choice as I say above the M8 is the one to go for if you need that transverse column.

@@svenknauer1921 I can only give you my personal feedback. I've used it a lot and the only issue I had was with the plastic at the bottom of the column cracked 818c (the part that holds the metal loop to attach a weight etc). I emailed Zomei and they sent me another one. Apart from that I've not had a problem with it, that was a fairly minor thing but I mention it for transparency. M8 is too recent to see any issues with that, again it's working fine nothing to report there. I use these regularly as in most days so they get fairly extensive use. For the outlay I think they're pretty good overall, with some minor quirks. Hope that is of some use

​@@MrBazReviews Thank you for the assessment. I think I will try it with the Z818C, and possibly later buy the M8 for a different kind of use. The primary requirement would be first the landscape and architecture photography.
