Dewey, Enjoyed the video very much. I saw lots of places that were very familiar and was shocked to see some of the new construction. We first came in 1993 and stayed in the Gold Zone a few times before we bought time share weeks North of the marina on Sabalo Cerritos. Marina del Rey was the first one and the 25 years have now expired. I had never been off the street to see Joe's Oyster Bar so that was a first time treat. I chuckled one time you said a street was very quiet but I have probably seen it over 50 times and it was never that quiet before. On one street there are a number of jewelry stores and I was told that the cruise lines own them so their passengers have a destination to visit in the Gold Zone. We mostly took the bus to the gold zone to shop, browse, eat a special meal, and just enjoy the sites. It is a little too noisy for me. We are scheduled to return to Mazatlan in early October so hope we can connect. Great video!!!

Thanks George just let me know when you're coming to town. You won't recognize Mazatlan 24 new high rise apartment buildings in the past year alone.

Wow great video! Thanks for showing us a different part of Mazatlan. I was surprised to see people in jeans and long sleeves at the beach. Isn't it boiling there?
@DwightBurditt2 жыл бұрын
It is hot. Mexican people are very modest in the way they dress. You hardly ever see a Mexican man I'm shorts except at the beach. Mexican women usually wear shorts and a t-shirt to the beach. Around town ever wears slacks or jeans. I don't know how they do it. I felt like 40C yesterday and you'll still see everyone wearing jeans. Thanks for watching 👍

The Gold Zone is like a bit of the US. My preference of areas is the older less moderen areas but I enjoyed the video. I never went to the Marina area That would be interesting possably? Your commentary on what you see is good often people gloss through to surface stuff but you comment on stuff that is more real.

My friend Jaime lives in the Marina. I may go up and visit him one day.

I love all your videos, but sometimes the wind makes it difficult to hear what you are saying. Have you thought about getting a microphone for your lapel with a foam cover on the end? I’ve watched other KZbinrs that have them and it knocks out most of the wind noise. Keep up the good work Dewy. Bye the way I’ve stayed at the Azteca Inn a couple times. It’s basic, but clean and cheap. Would definitely recommend it.
@DwightBurditt Жыл бұрын
That requires a camera with a mic jack. I use a piece of foam over my phone mic. (Much cheaper) i discovered that solution about a year ago. The phone is really suseptable to wind noise, my camera has great wind noise suppression.

Wasn’t the Golden Zone bar called Larios, not Daria’s ?

I thought it was Dario's but I may have that wrong.

We all have our own likes and comfort zone. I remember the first night i was in Mazatlán being very nervous about going out after dark to get something to eat. 🤣 They assured me at the hotel that it was safe. Now i know more or less what's safe and have very few worries 🙂👍

Congratulations!!! you are over 1k subs, now you can do a live stream if a hurricane hits. This was a nice change of scenery, I like the older colonial section more but really it's all good.

I had fun, going to see what's changed. I'm looking forward to live streaming. I'm going to have to spend some time seeing how that works.

In the Zona Dorada it's a lot like Miami
@violetskirrow83872 жыл бұрын
We prefer less touristy areas. We are hopefully moving to mazatlan in the next few years and do not want a place on the beach.
@DwightBurditt2 жыл бұрын
No, i agree. I like where I live. When I go to the Zona Dorada, i don't even feel like I'm in Mexico anymore.

Hi Duey Great video! How much its changed in the zona dorado. Street and side walks have been much improved but the monster hotel took a bit away from it. The beach in the zona dorado are awesome! It was nice to see more of Mazatlan from you. Thank you again and C U soon!

Thanks for showing us an other part of Mazatlan. I personnaly prefer the Centro but some people prefer the highrise modern condos with sea view, à bit like Miami. it must be difficult walking in that heat, the cars , the asphalte and the concrete add to the warm weather. Cuidado as Lupita says.
@DwightBurditt2 жыл бұрын
It was awfully hot yesterday. Even sitting on my patio at 10pm it was still very warm and humid. Like you, i prefer the relative tranquillity of Centro
@mrsclaussews2 жыл бұрын
They've really fixed up the Golden Zone, the sidewalks look better than I've ever seen them. We rarely go to the Zone either, but we do love to eat at Pancho's. So once or twice during our stay we take a taxi there. My in-laws thought Gringo Lingo was a great place but we weren't impressed. Have you eaten at Pancho's?
@DwightBurditt2 жыл бұрын
I've heard good things about Pancho's but I've never been.
@rachaelkennedy30712 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Golden Zone is nice, and upscale, but it strikes me as slightly pretentious; pretention just rubs me the wrong way. I much prefer the charm of Centro. The great thing is, people don't have to all like the same things, and some will be very happy in Dorada, and others can settle down like cats with butter on their paws in Centro.
