@@FinnDelMundoTravel Awesome 😎 friend. I've been living here for 9 years and it's time to move on. I plan to travel and vlog the places I visit until I'm tired and wanna retire or check out of life. There are many videos on Medellín, the neighboring cities of Envigado and COPACABANA as well as small towns in Oriente Antioqueño which Paisas (People from Medellín) love visiting on the weekends. Right now we're going through a spike in cases so weekends are under lockdown orders in the whole country I guess. Can't go out and make more vlogs till further notice. There are like 4 vlogs on Isla Fuerte in the Caribbean (part of COLOMBIA 🇨🇴) and one of them shows you guys hospedajes (similar to a hostel) and there contact info if you wanna go to a small laid-back island 🏝️ where there are no cars 🚗, buses 🚌 nor trucks🚛. Just a few motorcycles 🏍️.

@@FinnDelMundoTravel Hey Finn plus if you get here in December, it's an awesome 😎 month to visit as it's la epoca navideña (Christmas 🎄 Time) and the public christmas lights are awesome. I made some vlogs about those in Medellín, Envigado, Rionegro, Marinilla, etc so take a look and see what you like 👍🏻. Have a good afternoon, morning or evening wherever you are Finn.

Here is why Roma Norte, Condesa and Juarez seem different. These areas were built as upper class suburbs during the Porfiriato (the era of President Porfirio Diaz in the late 1800s up to the revolution in 1910). During that era, the upper class was obsessed with all things European, especially France. Paseo Reforma in CDMX and Paseo Montejo in Merida are two examples of streets modelled after Champs-Elysees. Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Post Office near the Zocalo are examples of French style architecture. Even Gustave Eiffel got into the game - designing many buildings in Mexico. Oh, and all those theatres - for example in Oaxaca and Guanajuato - have many European touches (and usually a sign stating that Porfirio himself was there for the opening). Anyway, the buildings, streets and parks in Roma, Juarez and Condesa exhibit many "old Europe" touches. Another example, the streets in Juarez (including Zona Rosa) are named after European cities. These areas went downhill after the revolution, and were hit hard during the earthquake in the 1980s. Zona Rosa became a red light district. But the areas are on the upswing - and the beautiful old buildings have been fixed up and repurposed. Oh, one other thing that makes the area "different" - there are many extranjeros - especially professionals from Latin America who are attached to head offices in CDMX. Just a part of what makes Mexico such an amazing country with a fascinating and diverse history. I love to see you checking it out. Thanks for sharing!
