Is not that Apple don't tell you. No one talks about it. Not even Intel.
@debendragurung30337 жыл бұрын
Yi-Shun Wang It's not Intel that decides whether to turbo boost. It's the laptop manufacturers preference. So, it's all upto Apple.
@Billy123bobzzz7 жыл бұрын
No that is not correct at all. The Intel CPU does all the switching and turbo-boosting internally (inside the CPU chip itself). Apple, like Microsoft, like Linux, cannot control that. What Apple can do is to detect when the system is lightly loaded and send all the processes to one CPU core so Intel's internal mechanism can put the other cores to sleep, then Intel's internal control will ram up the turbo speed up to its turbo limit (minus thermal throttling).

So a few weeks ago I got the 2016 base 15inch model MacBook Pro refurbished from Apple's site. I haven't had any problems with it. Including the ones mentioned here and elsewhere. I assume they have replaced problematic components before reselling them. I would recommend anyone that wants to get a MacBook to consider Refurbished one from their website. Looks and works like brand-new. No scratches or any cosmetic damage, new display, and a new battery.

It seems like a thing for apple that the first version of their hardware sucks, I bought the mid 2012 Retina display MacBook Pro and it had tons of issues, although none of them was a showstopper but together they made my experience with it very unpleasant, the issues were the ghosting problem, the trackpad started to feel really hard to click after a few months, the keyboard keys were like mushy( I recently bought an air and the keys feel a lot different so I realize now that it is an issue with the retina laptop) and the interface was very laggy, the animations were not smooth, even though it had an Nvidia 650m the retina resolution was too much to handle, they eventually mitigated the problem in posterior versions of Mac OS but after more than a year ... So it is a good advice not to get anything.from apple if it is the first version of something, because essentially you become a paying beta tester ....
@Billy123bobzzz7 жыл бұрын
Its a thing for all manufacturers of all products, The rule is that the first version of anything you manufacture using new parts or new processes has glitches, its been that way since the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, its not unique to Apple, its normal for everyone to have a small percentage of products suffer from a glitch or two.

Yes, the sixth time is the charm. All it took was people paying for 5 generations of product to finance the "developemnt" of a laptop computer with a good keyboard, screen and treackpad that doesn't have major issues within months of release. As you should have figured out from their logo, Apple bites.

Just got it back and it literally doesn't work. This has been an ongoing event for a year now! Unbelievable... iMovie freezes. The camera doesn't work, the mouse freezes, video's freeze, pages get slow, etc. etc. They just put a New Logic Board on it this week. Doesn't work!!!

The Battery wasn't stacked because the MacBook Pro's don't have a wedge design like the 12" MacBook. Stacking Battery's in a MacBook Pro is unnecessary because the volume of the device allows for a more simple designed battery, thus making the assembly process easier as well. Stacking battery's for the 12" MacBook wasn't easy.

Son, beside the fact we passed the 3.0 Ghz wall it's more than 15 years, in the real world you can't tell the difference between a last generation i5 and an older i7. A machine is about a balance of components. Often we get more benefits from a powerful GPU and super fast SSD rather than the raw power of the CPU itself.

@Billy123bobzzz7 жыл бұрын
It will have whatever Intel can deliver in quantity to Apple. Coffee Lake is promised to be produced on a smaller process so it should run cooler and faster but in order to try to stay ahead of AMD, Intel will probably add a lot of transistors and bump the clock rate up so it will then use more battery power and run hotter. Hopefully Apple will be able to select a part number that still runs a little faster while running cooler in a MacBook enclosure. One can only hope.

2015 MacBook Pro 13” model still represents best bang for your buck, in my opinion.

I agree! I have one and it still looks like the day it came out of the box. and it works great. I also purchased a macbook pro 2017 with Touch Bar and i had to take it back to the apple store for keyboard issues, fan issue and battery only lasts 4 hours. Wtf?
