I got my XR a few weeks ago. I previously had a well-loved, long running 6s Plus. I gotta say I LOVE the XR. I'm already very used to what feels like a very natural and intuitive way of swiping and tapping and leaving the home button behind. The sound is amazing on this thing and so is the camera. I got the red at first but traded for the white. I've never been so satisfied with a phone!

Better water resistance, well what's the use? Battery, XR is 2900 mAh, XS is 3100 mAh but it'll drain much faster due to the higher resolution.

I’ve recently upgraded from the 6+ to the XR and I have to say I’m fairly impressed, especially with the battery life. I was really impressed with the battery life of my old phone, but the XR blows it away. The screen seems to be of similar quality to my old phone, but I never really use my phone for anything that requires a better resolution. The only thing I don’t really like is having to get used to not having a home button. It’s been a bit of a pain getting used to it, but I’m actually liking it better. Another complaint so far is the fact that the notch in the top of the screen gets in the way of some video and pictures, but again, not really a major issue. My only other complaint is with the Portrait Lighting feature on the forward facing camera. It doesn’t have all the lighting features that the selfie camera does, but again, no big deal. For anyone upgrading from an older model like the 6, 6S or even 7 series, I’d highly recommend the XR. Probably not gonna be that good of an upgrade if you’re going from an 8 or newer. If that’s the case, you might want to spring for the XS or XS Max, or maybe even waiting until September to see what’s going to be introduced

Fun opinion...I believe the "R" in 10R stands for "Reach." If you go back and listen to Pull Shiller present the 10R for the first time, he said in the first one or two sentences that the 10R was developed to enable Apple to "Reach" a broader customer base with iPhone technology due to it's lower price. I can easily see Apple executives around the table, talking about naming schemes for the new iPhones, when "R" for "Reach" is suggested. It's very "Applesque," in my opinion, of course.
