This is pretty awesome, but if you had the replenishment power in the vehicle, like the Safiery Scotty system we used, your vehicle can dump up to 3kw into your system when the days are awful. We stayed in the shade using the aircon for 9 days in Mission Beach, just using the vehicle to charge the van and a couple of portable panels we put in the sun. Didn't need to carry diesel for the vehicle. Or a heater. Was one less thing to worry about. Used the airfryer flat out. . .and ran induction. 10kw battery, 1200W Solar on the roof. There's certainly and efficiency to the diesel systems, but if you have your off grid power system designed robustly, which has to include big power from the vehicle to replenish in bad conditions, then you can have your cake - without having to deal with diesel all the time (vehicle not withstanding of course, but at least you don't need to be mucking with jerry's to idle the car).

Yeah great idea to take the pressure off the batteries.

It's a huge advantage for extended off-grid travel Buck 👌

Make this available in the Sojourn & I will order a new van immediately. I bake bread a couple of times a week in ZN239.
