We used the traditional ICF bracing with our elaborate cliffside build and it was the biggest and most complicated pain in the ass. These are a total game changer.

Everything has its place, but we think this cost effective solution is great for so many ICF builds out there
@tad39003 жыл бұрын
The simple solution is often the best. This is a simple and cost effective solution. The 2x bracing can be absorbed into the framing leaving zero waste, smart.

can they be used on a slab already poured ??-- -put 2x4 s on the floor to brace to
@FabFormIndustries3 ай бұрын
Yes no problem. You can either drill into the slab, or it you do not want to damage it, you can spray foam 2x6 to the slab, and screw into that. Check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGXLYWirfKiNnrM

My biggest concern is the flexibility of the 2x4. Quality of the 2x4 could easily become an issue as well.
@FabFormIndustries Жыл бұрын
We have been using 2x4 material for forming concrete for over a hundred years in North America. Yes bowing lumber is not ideal for the horizontal and vertical lumber. But keep in mind, we don't care if our wood is straight, just our ICF walls. As long as we have adjustability every 5' with the Zuckle, we can easilly make any ICF wall straight as an arrow!

Where did the names "Zont/Zuckle etc" come from? what do the actually mean? Are they made up?
@FabFormIndustries9 ай бұрын
They all come from this being the only horiZONTal ICF bracing system.

Finding true lumber would be a problem
@FabFormIndustries10 жыл бұрын
We run our eye down all lumber before throwing it on the wall. If it has a large warp we would use it for a diagonal kicker to adjust the wall. If any warping did occur during bracing, you have the turnbuckle on each brace to maintain that the wall is true.

It's slow and not what it's cracked up to be, I think I could lay the foundation out of cement block a lot quicker
@FabFormIndustries Жыл бұрын
Have you used the system before? Its implied that you have when you say; its slow and not what its cracked up to be. Then you say you "think" you could lay a foundation out of CMU faster? Which one is it big guy? Pretty conflicting comments there.....
@Steve-e8d4d Жыл бұрын
There is a lot of waste with ICF, I bet the green people would love to see the landfills
@Steve-e8d4d Жыл бұрын
You did not show all the recommended screws that go into this system, just completed a couple of huge foundations, so I know, plus stepping over the zuckles, trip hazard, but I do like the zuckles adjustment

Put the zuffle on the zont? who own this company, dr. Seuss?
@FabFormIndustries2 жыл бұрын
Hahaha. The first product was the Zont, as it is the first bracket for hori"zont"al bracing. Then we didn't stop with the Z from there. But its pretty funny hearing these names being thrown around on a jobsite for sure.

They want to charge $700 just to ship these things. The total would've been $3k. There has to ba a cheaper way.
