Most zookeepers actually don’t care about the pay. They do it because they love their animals.

I so much enjoyed this video i really would give anything to be a volunteer zookeeper mainly for the monkeys. Chimps, all of them. I just loved what the keeper spoke about how people use and abuse thez beautiful living, loving, compassionate creaters. I just am in awe of the things i have learned from watching videos of what True Family and Love really is . And i learned it from all the videos and documentaries of them in the wild. I would go anywhere on gods green earth to help save them and help keep them safe from human evil along with mother nature evil. I thank all who does do this and all the zookeeper's everywhere for loving these animals the way they all so DESERVE. 🐵🙏🐵🙏

I forgot to mention that since I’m a volunteer docent, I have also become very good in knowing what is normal animal behavior and what is not. It allows me to know if I need to notify the keepers or not. I don’t get paid for what I do. I volunteer because I enjoy it. I love hanging out with the animals and seeing what they are doing.

I live these chimp videos. But watching others, it looks like these chimps are over fed. I'm no expert! Does anyone know?
@sallypenhalli2 жыл бұрын
Yes the zoo keeper who looks after these chimps know, as does the nutritionist she mentioned. Why don't you ask them, you know the actual experts as opposed to the armchair ones on KZbin.

Do you feed them any meat, like they eat in the wild?
@Powerranger-le4up5 жыл бұрын
Rally Boyd I am a docent at another zoo and they usually don’t feed them meat. Still, even in the wild, they are primarily vegetarians.
@ronniebuchanan65752 жыл бұрын
Probably not because they usually cannabalize a victim of another tribe. They also want eat meat they didn't kill. If they see an animal get killed they want eat it. Only if one of them kill it will they eat it.

First off if chimpanzees live almost three times longer as a pet then wild chimpanzees. Cheetah the chimp was 80 years old and lived as a pet his whole life. Chimps live to be 65 in zoos and 29 in the wild. So obviously the wild is not the only place for chimpanzees. Could it be that some chimps are better off in the wild, some in zoos and some as pets? Why is always one way with these people? Lack knowledge and understanding maybe? Or are they more militant? Militant from i can tell. They’re right and everyone else is wrong! Disagree with these people and they belittle you and call you names! These people are what i call primate-nazis!

Na it's not them that's wrong, it's you. Your argument is ridiculous, primates live longer in captive situations because their habitat and food supply is not at risk from logging, they are not being butchered for bush meat and so that their young can be taken and sold to people like you who think it's fine to keep a wild animal as pet. Most wild animals kept as pets are exploited to make money out of them. They are taught to do unnatural things like smile, kiss and hug people and tourists who are having their photo taken with them. They are taught to smoke and drink beer cos it's considered funny all the while wearing human clothes which is not natural. The teaching of these tricks is not pleasant and is based on a relationship of fear between the primate and the exploiter/owner of that animal. In larger primates it is usually a relationship based on being violent to the animal whilst the animal is restrained and can't fight back, that's how it's kept in its place. That's the reason most people give up their actual pet primates (the ones you see on instagram dressed up like humans doing human or cute poses, still exploited, still being used to make money just not so blatantly cruel) its because they become physically too hard to handle as they get bigger and hormonal changes make them act more like the wild animal they are. How is it better for these captive animals, its not, its just a longer life of misery and exploitation that's all.

Also note that I made my argument without any name calling which you stated is what usually happens when we militant primate Nazi types happen to disagree with you.
