A huge 'thank you' for your wonderful informative videos. I was having a problem sharing documents and navigating my way around Zoom in general. In this and other videos you explained that the Zoom Meeting Window can be minimized and dragged down to the bottom of the screen temporarily. Then you explained how to unminimize the window to return to the Meeting Window. Wow! I practised what you explained until I was comfortable with it and now I can share my screen with confidence. As well, I now understand why it’s important for my students to be comfortable minimizing & unminimizing the meeting window. Many thanks!

Hello, thank you for all you Zoom videos, they've been really helpful! I wanted to ask, how do you show students what you can see as a host, i.e. the meeting toolbar? I'm prepping to teach some workers on Zoom. I also want to be able to show the participants the meeting toolbar during sharing a screen too, so they know what to expect when sharing a screen themselves.
@ttvRussell4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mohammad. Only the host can see the full meeting toolbar. Although you can share you WHOLE screen, it won't actually show what you see in Zoom. You can either make someone a co-host or change the host for this purpose or I would suggest taking a screenshot and send this to them afterwards. Maybe annotate the screenshot by drawing an arrow or highlight certain parts of the toolbar.

Hi Russell...I teach voice for a music school and would like to starting teaching online while we're all house bound. It's a one on one lesson 30 - 45 mins. I think this is a relatively straight forward process but am concerned about having the best audio...I need to play the melody line for songs (not accompaniment) as well as vocal technique. My students range from 8 - 26...I'm a newbie to Zoom and a technological idiot! can you please help me!!! I've been watching your videos and they're excellent..very clear.
@ttvRussell4 жыл бұрын
Hello Calla. Firstly, thanks for your lovely comment. It seems that many musicians and music teachers are using Zoom to not only connect but collaborate on things. There are audio settings for each person using Zoom. It works best with a headset rather than an in-built mic, but I understand you might want to pick up good quality sound from any instruments. If it's just voice, get them to consider what audio input (i.e. microphone) they are using, then look at the audio settings in the bottom left-hand pane in Zoom. Settings here: www.teachertrainingvideos.com/key_settings_when_teaching_with_zoom

Hi Russell, Thanks very much for the wonderful videos. I have a question about virtual background. When I choose one I see myself as a "ghost" I look transparent and the picture I choose only goes over part of the background. It was happening to a few of us during a session. Can you tell me what might be the problem and how to solve it? Thanks very much
@ttvRussell4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joy. Virtual Backgrounds are only recommended when you have a single colour behind you, like a white wall. If there are too many colours your video will have some bad effects. The ideal situation is to have a green screen, but most people don't have this option. Try uploading an image from your computer into Zoom and see if that helps. Here's a video on Green Screen, if you are interested by this effect: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jX7Cn5x9h8arjNU

Thank you so much for all your videos. I made a Canva presentation with 4 slides and A different video embedded on each slide. You’ve mentioned watching videos in break out room a couple times, but I don’t know how to set it up..
@ttvRussell4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tracy. That's a great question, which you can manage in BreakOut Rooms. First, watch this video: www.teachertrainingvideos.com/complete_breakout_rooms_training as it tells you more about how to do this. In your case, you might set up a link to each of the 4 videos but only give the direct links for each one to each room, by joining them one after the other. Play around with this option if you can. Take a bit of practice. Russell.

@ttvRussell4 жыл бұрын
You can enable or disable participants ability to annotate and to add information to shared screens in settings. You can also turn this on or off during a meeting, using the new security button on the toolbar (version 4.6 or later). This video is over a month old now but still focuses on the annotation feature: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmXapmR5jqp8iNE or an even earlier one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4vZaGOaqNSHnsU

I have a question: is it possible to give each participant a different screen for example, if you wanted to do a jigsaw reading or get students to take notes on different texts?
@ttvRussell4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that question, zzz. The thing you can do is to put certain students into certain rooms together, where one of them shares their screen. As a host you can join each of these and manually give them different instructions or different parts of a jigsaw reading. If you see what I mean. Hope this helps. Russell.

Hey, Cecile. The chat window should appear, even in screen sharing. Sometimes it gets hidden or seems to disappear. Hi Muhammed. There are two recording options. If the host enables other participants to record 'locally' then break out rooms will also be recorded, but only the main window or what the host sees can be recorded to the Zoom cloud. Hi Nikki. That's for your comment and for following the channel. If you disable this feature in settings, that should mean that participants can't replace their backgrounds.
