Is there a way to record a boom and lavalier at the same time and get separate audio files.
@productionsoundtexas39492 жыл бұрын

Hi . Would you say that this recorder is worth getting in 2022 if i can find it or would you suggest the f6 instead?
@eamonneamonn2 жыл бұрын
I just bought a used F4. I figure as my first recorder, it's going to be leaps ahead of anything else I can afford.

Does this bag just have the clear top? So, is this bag good for storing/traveling with the F4?
@NevelBeats5 жыл бұрын
George Daniels yes the cover comes with the clear top. I keep the field recorders in their travel bags. No extra wear or tear.

thanks for the informative video. I have one question, hope you can answer: is the divider in the PCF-4 attached with velcro? Is it removable, adjustable? Thanks!
@NevelBeats5 жыл бұрын
Ruggero Melis Unfortunately the divider is non-removable if you wish to remove the divider I will suggest purchasing the PCF8 thanks for watching!!!

Could I use some cheap 1/8" lavalier like the rode smarlav on the zoom f4 1/8" input? Hows to sound quality of this input?
@productionsoundtexas39496 жыл бұрын
Felipe Locca good question I’ll try experimenting with that setup, I have a few smart lavs.
@TheVefIt6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I wonder because there are really a lot of decent cheap 1/8" lavaliers. But there are some great recorders out there that have great preamps but when it comes to the 1/8" input they're bad. I've seen to notice this with tascam recorders.
@productionsoundtexas39496 жыл бұрын
So I was experimenting with the RODE Smartlav+ straight into the ZOOM 5/6 INPUT (1/8 INPUT JACK) and the input is unable to power to the RODE smartlav +. Hope this helps.@@TheVefIt

I know this is a fairly old post, but I've just got a F4, and from my understanding, it looks like inputs 5 and 6 are line level inputs, there is no mic preamps on these. I guess they are primarily designed as a camera return, and has the added advantage of being able to record aswell. If you have some kind of small external preamp you could go into that first, and then go into the inputs and that would work, otherwise you are better off using the lav and using something like the Rode VXLR+ (that can power the mic), and using inputs 1 - 4.

I know this is old, but you would have to plug in the rode xlr to 3.5 adapter. There is one that converts phantom power to plug-in power. I can't remember what it's called, but it will be easy to find. It's like $30
