Phenomenal. All these years later and this is still super helpful, thank you for putting this together.

Nice gear Shelby! Love your wireless as well as the F8. I rented an F8 and recorded some live and some prerecorded tunes. I recorded a live DJ set and you may want to change the max file size from 2 gig to something larger, or just mix the multiple files together in post. It was 2 files, about 1:30 and I noticed no latency or overlap from one file to the next though, it was spot on.

It's a great machine. People were pretty sceptical about it when it first came out, but I think it has really proved itself.

Man this is such an epic recorder. I want 1 so bad dude. I'd still love to hear 1 with the awesome Rode NT1-A. Or better yet a matched pare of NT1-As.

MrHamit64 yeah, it's an awesome recorder. I haven't tried recording music with it, but the preamps are great so I'm sure it would be great for that stuff.

Yeah I'll bet. I want 1 for ambiance and nature stuff. If the F4 is anything to judge buy man like I said this thing's got to be real cool.

MrHamit64 F4's are great as well. These are really powerful recorders.

Probably its an update after you made the video, but now to to clear the peak indicator you just have to press "5".

Correct. Sorry the video is a little dated.

HOW do you record drums, then, go back, and record keyboard, then go back and record guitar, THEN, go back and record bass ....???? I can't figure it out AT ALL!

(For anyone interested...) This kind of recorder is not intended for use in overdubbing or layered recording. As far as I know there is no way to PLAY a track(s) while recording another instrument/track at the same time -- nor can you add more material to an existing track without playing wire-patching games. Those tasks are handled much more easily and effectively by computers running software like Garage Band and Logic Pro. There are also hardware recorders designed for multi-track music recording, but they generally lack the flexibility and power of computer-based recorders.

No need for Hirose! Here is our review on how we're powering our ZOOM F8 with an affordable USB to DC (with 12v regulator) cable, and a $20 Anker cell phone battery: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJCcmZemdtWMqdU

USB works as a backup power source, but a locking hirose cable is always preferred.
