can you compare it with AX8 in direct into amp? maybe you can do video compare test? i use g5n withoun cab block to ir pleer amt pangaea and it sounds much better then with zoom cabs with mic-on... it's interesting, how far AX8 from zoom preamps and how realistic zoom models

Nice demo. Could you please explain how easy or difficult it is to move between different sounds? For example, if I play with Distortion/chorus, then go to OD/phase/delay, then to Dist/chorus/wah, and want to go back to the beginning, do I have to just set up one patch with the maximum number of effects and program them to be turned off/on? Or do I have to put my personal presets in order that I use them in a song?

There is a difference if you hear closely. But you're on a budget go for ZOOM G5N OR G6(NEW). You will never be disappointed.

Is G3XN better than Boss GT-1? Can you do a comparison between both models?

I had both and got rid of the GT1. It just never sounded good to my ear. Besides the plastic put me off the GT1. The Zoom g3xn is solidly built(full metal).

Love the tones you dile on all your rigs ......I'm looking for a floor unit that I can run both FOH and to the Amp Input on stage for a Floor volume .....but can't justify the AX8 just yet .....what unit in your experience has the best functionality ....I was looking at the Boss ME80 and now the G5N seems tone wise quite the unit ......any help appreciated .

Not a beginner, but far from being really good, but I've never had any pedals. Would you recommend the G3nx over the G5n? The price difference is $100, but are the difference worth the upgrade. I am not looking to connect to any interface, just looking for more sounds using a multi effect unit. Thanks in advance!

I have the G3nx, and I'm getting ready to order the G5n. I used the G3nx for about 7 months, then went to Amplitube cause I hated the g3nx. But seems like the G5n has come a long way since the G3nx. I can't wait to get it. Plus the downloadable models etc from the website really appeals to me as well. For the hundred dollar difference, from everything I've seen, read and heard I'd say its worth it.

However, I do believe you are able to download additional amps/effects with the G3xn, but correct me if I am wrong. zoom g5n. for $100 more, you get extra hardware and screen space, and ability to record via audio into a daw or use it as an audio interface for dry signal recording. a zero latency audio interface would cost over $100 anyways

Boss GT-100 is pro level modeler....only the newer generation modelers like helix LT, Kemper and Fractal AX8 will get better results

I couldn't tell from your video, but do the reverb and delay effects decay naturally when switching from one preset to the next? It looks like you're just going from preset to preset and switching individual effects in that preset on an off.

Alex Mag they exactly the same.. But g5n has booster built in that may help it sounds better.. But for fx and amp and cab sim all the same

use the Output Volume pedal that is available in Ver3... Use that in all your patches to maintain the volume sounds when switching patches... God bless

Hey this is without a doubt, the best review sample I have of the Zoom G3xn. I have a question for you or can anyone help me, I am debating weather to get the G5n or the G3xn. I am looking to get as many amp models as I can. I play alot of classic rock, Zeppelin, Beatles, AC/DC, Stones, Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd,. I want set up the amp models similiar to these artists. Is the G5n overkill for me, or just get the G3xn. Can someone help? Thanks.

If you’re plugging it into a real amp, you can either use cab simulation or not, whatever sounds best for you. You don’t NEED them, but you CAN use it - just turn off the microfone in the cab effect
