Hi, I have the h4n pro. I have a dead cat on it and it still picks up wind. I want to record the sound of my cbr600rr. Any tips for settings etc.... I'm basically using it as mic and syncing it up later on my computer. Thanks

@@ReallyStupid-j6d I think what you’re hearing there is the added bass of the intake honk. I have a performance air filter and at certain rpm’s the intake under the seat pulls in a lot of air and makes a deep bassy noise.

I tried under my seat but the sound was bouncing around in there, very echoey and bad. Tried the tail bag and it was way too loud. Best I could get was situated around my lower back. I usually mix in a little go pro audio so it’s not too too clean.

It sounds good, do you edit your sound in post as well, or is this raw? I just recently bought the H1n, for now, gain level 6 captures a nice loud audio compared to other settings, but I still can't figure out this loud high pitch sound, which I noticed even when I was using the DJI mic. It sounds like the radiator, and it's much louder than the engine and the exhaust itself.

Hey is this the high pitch sound you're referring to in my video? I was using DJI Mic 2, very disappointed :( cant figure out how to improve it

If you have a really loud exhaust, it may be worth upgrading to the H4n pro. I have a K7 GSXR 750 with full yoshi exhaust, and even on low gain it clips the H1n when the engine is going hard (its in the tail box). It's rated for 120 SPL where the H4n is 140 SPL. My H4n comes in this weekend, so maybe I'll comment again if it really works.

@@JustMotorcycles Unfortunately my GSXR is leaking oil from the waterpump, and I'm waiting on parts. I did test with my much louder Tuono 660 with a full SC Project exhaust, and it was much clearer at full rev, didn't seem to clip at all. So I would say it was a success, would recommend H4n, just bear in mind it is a bit bigger, so it took some finagling with the lower under seat space of the tuono. The size won't be an issue at all for the GSXR.

@@JustMotorcycles Fixed it just yesterday! I might even take a video soon, haven't posted one yet while still figuring out sound settings. H4n Pro is what I'm using.

@@JustMotorcycles First test with Level 30 out of 100 on the H4N pro, did have me clipping at full revs, but still a good bit better than the H1. I'm going to try reducing the gain more and seeing if I can get tops in control.

Can't you hear that the sound has become muffled? It is wrong to place the recorder simply in a backpack

I placed below the seat, just above the rear wheel, the sound was really bad.
