So what about for example, the host sharing a screen and lets say a single participant sharing with the host. I want to be able to see their share (maybe dual monitors is best) and have them see my share. I have tried the settings that you mentioned about but if I am sharing a screen with s student and they need to share a screen with me, when they start the share with me, my share with them terminates (or just blanks out ) Thoughts? I think this may be asking the same thing as someone else I commented on. Here's what I wrote to them. Let me know if you're asking something different, and I'll try to find the answer for you: Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing. Even if a someone is already sharing a screen, another participant can begin sharing. Depending on their setup, participants will see the following: - Participants using dual monitors can see the two most recently shared screens on each monitor. - Participants using a single monitor see the most recently shared screen. Participants can select View Options to change the screen they are viewing. (We did this in the episode) - Participants using the Zoom mobile app see the most recently shared screen. They cannot change the screen they are viewing. Sharing multiple screens simultaneously has the following limitations: - When you enable the option to share multiple screens simultaneously, the options Share computer audio and Optimize for full-screen video clip are not available. - Participants in Zoom Rooms or using the mobile app cannot share when anyone else is sharing. Hope that helps!

Sounds simple but it keeps shutting down the audio when document shared. Any help much appreciated. This is for singing with backing track, viewing lyrics on screen. Thank you!
@ACILearning4 жыл бұрын
You're very welcome. I understand what you are trying to do and the only way to accomplish it is to have dual monitors. I'll try to explain this simply, but I believe that if every participant has dual monitors, then you'd be able to accomplish what you're looking to do. If you have two hosts, one sharing the audio and the other sharing the lyrics, then as a viewer (if you have dual monitors) you would be able to see both screens at the same time. The shared audio in monitor 1 and the lyrics in monitor 2. Unfortunately, with one monitor you are only able to view a SINGLE shared screen at a time and the only way to hear the audio is to have that hosts screen selected. Therefore, if you are hearing the audio loud and clear, but go to switch to the lyrics screen, the audio will cut out because you are no longer selected on that hosts screen. With dual monitors, you are able to view both hosts screens at the same time. HOWEVER, keep in mind that if you are the host who is sharing the lyrics, then you will NOT be able to hear the audio from the other persons screen because you are sharing your screen. As a participant who is sharing a screen, you are not given the ability to see/hear others screens. In all, it would be rather complicated to get everything working perfectly for everyone. The participants who are not sharing screens and have dual monitors, will be able to view the lyrics and hear the audio. However, without dual monitors or external video equipment (like a video switcher), that is impossible. Here at ITProTV, we've worked with many external clients who have needed to achieve similar outcomes that you are referring to. If you'd like to reach out to our production director at brad@itpro.tv, maybe we would be able to help! Best of luck to you.

Hi, great video. I'm struggling though with side-by-side mode and multiple screen sharing. We are software developers, and after Corona we want to work together even when sitting at home. We also want to coach people by both showing what to do, while seeing them do the same on their own screen. To do so we want to share our main working screen, and see our partner's screen on the other monitor. To do this the host needs to share screen and see a participant share in another window, usually placed on another screen. My problem is that once I share, the dropdown arrow that lets me select which share to see is replaced with a red square and "stop sharing". Also even if I have two monitors set up, no side-by-side mode appears. I've tried this for hours, and I know a lot of software developers wants an easy way to do this. Pair Programming its called, and they all have money to buy Zoom subscriptions and tutorials.

Glad you liked the video! Let's see if we can help you out. You need to have the ENABLE DUAL MONITORS setting enabled in the settings of the Zoom Client, on the general tab. Then you should be able to open two windows to share your video and screen content. NOTE: On Mac OS 10.15 Catalina, you need to allow Zoom access to screen recording to share your screen. You can do this in your System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording. Check the option for zoom.us.

Hey Hugo, great question. That is actually not something that we have encountered. When sharing a video there is a check box to select when you want to share your computer audio, so make sure that that is selected. Is it out of sync for just you or for everyone in the meeting? This could also be a result of the internet connection or bandwidth of Zoom at the time. We've noticed that in the afternoon, Zoom's quality is reduce and often times the audio or video will skip around/lag compared to in the morning when the signal is usually better.

Unfortunately not easily... The only solution that I could offer you may or may not work, as it depends on how you are setup to present. In Zoom, there are a set of sharing options on the ADVANCED TAB when you go to setup your share, and one of them will allow you to use a second camera as an additional input, such as a document camera, that could be used to display your power points, and then the primary camera in/on your computer, which would display your face/you. You can take a look at the Zoom help document for the steps to use this feature if you have two cameras and want to give it a try: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/207599483-Screen-Share-a-Camera-Input Good Luck !!

@ACILearning4 жыл бұрын
Hey Steven! As a host, you are given the ability to allow others to share their screens, but you can not choose which screen your participants view. If the animations on an iPad were on one participants screen share and the powerpoint was on another (and they were both sharing at the same time), then any of the other participants can toggle between them whenever they like. You as the host do not have control of that. My advice would be to advice everyone verbally "everyone please click on Bob's screen" when you want them to see the iPad and then "now switch over to John's screen" when you want them to see the PowerPoint.

When going from gallery view to speaker view, is it possible to have 2 speakers side by side to present to 60 or 70 participants rather than just one speaker?
@ACILearning4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, the speaker view only shows one speaker at a time. In Zoom, every participant has their own view and can change that view to their liking. You are able to "pin" ONE speaker, therefore placing that specific speaker into a full screen view (but that doesn't apply to the entire meeting, only to each individual participant who uses the feature). If you have dual monitors, then you are given the ability to "pin" two speakers and have one show up on each monitor. In order to accomplish the look that you are going for (with two speakers side by side), you would need to use two Zoom accounts on two separate computers and a video switcher to bring it all together. At ITProTV, we actually do this frequently for large meetings and presentations. If you would like to reach out to our Production Director, Brad, he would be able to answer any further questions and see if we could assist you.

Can you point me to some help on this issue?
@ACILearning4 жыл бұрын
Hey Andi, sorry you are still having trouble. First, I just want to confirm that the host has selected the "enable multiple screen shares" option. Second, it's important to know that if both of you are on a single monitor and are both sharing your screen at the same time, you will only be able to see your own screen. If you both have dual monitors and are sharing your screens, then you will be able to see the other persons screen on monitor 1 and your screen on monitor 2. Essentially, if you are a participant who is sharing your screen then you will only be able to see your own screen (unless you have dual monitors), everyone else in the meeting who is NOT sharing their screen, will be able to toggle between the screens using the 'View Options' menu. The 'View Options' menu does not show up if you are sharing your screen on a single monitor. You can enable dual monitors in Zoom in the 'General' settings.

So as long as you have one of those accounts, then you should be able to. When you share your screen, make sure to select the "share computer sound" option so that the participants will hear the music coming from your computer. My suggestion to you would be to use dual monitors. With dual monitors, you will be able to see your event/presentation on monitor 1 and then whichever participant that you "pin" on monitor 2. You are able to select specific participants that you want to have full screen on your computer by "pining" them. Here is a tutorial from a different channel on how to pin videos kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKnNe42Pj9Z7qaM If you do not have dual monitors, then you will need to enable "side-by-side" mode in order to see your shared screen on one side of your monitor and whichever participants video you choose on monitor 2. Here is a tutorial from a different channel explaining how to enable side-by-side mode and how to use the "spotlight" feature. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6mxoKBtiJiZnNU I hope this help and best of luck on your event!

Understandable, but I do not think there is. We haven't used breakout rooms here, so I haven't had a chance to test simultaneously viewing them. I do not think you are able to be in more than one breakout room at a time. If you were to split your students up into two groups, then you could try using two Zoom accounts (on separate devices), to monitor both. But that would be my only suggestion. Hi, I changed the screen sharing to multiple participants can share simultaneously. I set the setting to All participants for both. Once I saved it and I told my participants to share simultaneously, it says cannot allow while others are sharing. I went back to the advanced sharing and it kept being reverted back to only host can start sharing when someone else is sharing. This is frustrating. Why does it automatically do that once my participants are sharing?
@ACILearning3 жыл бұрын
Sorry it keeps reverting back for you. If you're logged into Zoom on the desktop app, go to Preferences (if you're using a mac you'll find this by pressing the "zoom.us" icon in the upper right hand corner of your computer screen), then click General, and click on "view more settings." This will take you to the web application where you can essentially access "master" settings that will apply to all meetings. Once you're there, click on the "In Meeting Basic" tab and scroll down to screen sharing. Make sure screen sharing is turned on, and both of the other options are set to "all participants." I hope this helps!

I’m looking to do a drawing demonstration via zoom. I’d like the model to be visible to all in the meeting, as well as the demonstrating artist’s painting as he demonstrates the process. The other catch is that I am the host, not him. I want both of these as large as possible, and side by side. The other zoom participants do not need to be seen. Any suggestions on how to do this? Model and painter will be in different locations. When I turn off video, I still see the participant’s name in a black box on the screen. Is it possible to hide people so that everyone only sees the model and artist? Spotlighting only works for one. And speaker view inly works for one. I’m assuming that you are using a different product, not Zoom where your video stays visible on the side of Zoom? Thanks for your suggestions for solutions.
@ACILearning4 жыл бұрын
Hey Sue - As the host, you should be able to spotlight BOTH the artist and the model's videos. This will affect the entire meeting and spotlight both of their cameras. Here is the Zoom documentation that walks through the process of spotlighting multiple participants videos: support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362653-Spotlight-Video In our videos, we are using a Black Magic Video Switcher. This gives us the ability to take Adam's computer as an input and his camera as a second input. Then switcher allows us to combine the two, without using Zoom. We have a pretty elaborate production studio set up in our offices due to the nature of our business. I hope this was able to help in some way!

This is the info from Zoom directly that might help on that: Any participants (including the host) using the Zoom desktop client can click Share Screen to begin sharing. Even if someone is already sharing a screen, another participant can begin sharing. Depending on their setup, participants will see the following: - Participants using dual monitors can see the two most recently shared screens on each monitor. - Participants using a single monitor see the most recently shared screen. Participants can select View Options to change the screen they are viewing. - Participants using the Zoom mobile app see the most recently shared screen. They cannot change the screen they are viewing. As the host, you can choose to switch to the option One participant can share at a time for any portion of the meeting.

@ACILearning4 жыл бұрын
You can share your screen from the iPad, as we have discussed in the episode titled "How to Use Zoom Whiteboard on an iPad | How to Use Zoom"... IF you want to add in audio from another source, such as a separate device or computer, then you would have to play it REALLY REALLY loud and make sure that it is close to the iPad, so the microphone of the iPad will hopefully pick it up, but there is no way to do that DIRECTLY from within the iPad ... If you wanted the audio to be available from the same device, then you could easily do that.

Great video, Adam. I am having the same problem as Andi. I am a tutor working on line one on one with students. The student needs to share their screen with me so I can see their assignment. Simultaneously, I need to share my whiteboard with the student so they can watch the solution. Since each of us are sharing our screen, are you saying we won't have the 'view options' menu available to us?? Just 'stop share'? Thus we are only allowed to view one of our screens at a time? I do have dual screen capabilities but my student may not. In other words, are you saying that if there is only a host (me) sharing and one participant (student) sharing, we each won't be able to toggle between our shared screens or view our shared screens side by side? It appears that whoever is sharing does not have the capability to view other shares.
@ACILearning4 жыл бұрын
Hey Trish. Unfortunately, you are correct. If someone is sharing their screen, they will not have the ability to view other shares (unless they have dual monitors). They would have to stop sharing their screen in order to see your shared screen. Now that many teachers are working remote, this seems to be a common issue that they struggle with. My hope is that Zoom will address this in the near future with an update, but who knows. Best of luck to you!

Hi Adam. I need to record graduation speeches for our virtual graduation. I'm going to use Zoom. @ACILearning4 жыл бұрын
So, the answer will unfortunately be that while it is possible, it is technically complicated and involves the use of a switching capability that we have in our studios, but is probably not available for use in this scenario. HOWEVER, what I can suggest is the possibility that the zoom meeting can still be used as follows: (2 options) Option 1: Setup the zoom meeting and use it to provide the Tele-Prompted script for the student to read off of. The student would then have to record themselves using a secondary external camera, perhaps a smart phone device for instance, and then those recordings could be stitched together, or left individually to stand alone as part of the graduation. Option 2: Setup the zoom meeting and record the student(s) as part of the normal Zoom meeting, they just talk and you record the whole thing. The "Script" would have to be provided to them ahead of time and would be OUTSIDE of Zoom, perhaps on another machine that they can see while in the zoom meeting, and/or printed out on paper and they would have to figure out how to read from it while in the meeting. I hope that helps, and congrats to the graduates! -Adam

@ACILearning4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jerry! It sounds like you're choosing to share only an individual application, rather than your entire screen. When you click on "share screen" and the window pops up that has you click on whatever screen/application that you want to share, make sure that you choose to share your "Desktop." When you share your desktop, whatever application is open on your desktop, is what will be shared. Therefore you can switch between any applications without having to stop share. Note: that WHATEVER is open on your desktop that you see, the viewers will also see. So I would recommend closing or minimizing any emails or windows that you don't want shown and only have open the applications that you wish to share. When you share your desktop it is essentially a mirror of whatever you see so just be careful. Hope this helps!

Carola and Titus were both sharing their screens with everyone in the meeting, not just the host. As the host, you have to enable “multiple screen shares” as a feature so that multiple people can share their screens. However, once they do this, everyone in the meeting can toggle between ANY screen they wish to. There is no way for you to prevent this and to be the only one who can see the shared screens. However, ANYONE who is sharing their screen, can ONLY see their shared screen (unless they have a dual monitor, in which they can see their screen in monitor 1 and a different participants screen in monitor 2). If they are sharing their screen WITH ONE MONITOR, they do not get the ‘View Options’ menu to toggle between other participants screens and the same applies to you as the host. If you are interested in only being able to see the shared screens, then I would recommend incorporating Breakout Rooms and separating participants into separate rooms where only the people in that room can see the shared screens. 2. Yes you are able to enable multiple sharing for more than 2 people (by selecting the ‘allow multiple screen shares’ option as the host). With Side-by-side mode & Gallery View enabled, you can see your preferred shared screen on the left side and the face’s of participants on the right side OF ONE MONITOR. But this is only one monitor. In the meeting settings under “General” you need to click the “enable dual monitors” box in order to see multiple participants screens at the same time on two monitors. You can then toggle between any 2 of the participants who are sharing their screens (one on each monitor). But you can NOT see all of the shared screens as a grid. Also keep in mind, if you are sharing your screen (and only have one monitor) then you will ONLY be able to see your own screen. I hope this helps - feel free to comment with any additional questions.
