A day late and a dollar short, let me say 1) your series of pedal comparisons are super useful and 2) I think you put more thought into your demo tunelets than most people put into entire songs. Well done and thank you.

i am so glad The Algorithm decided to throw one of your videos my way. i had no idea about the ms70 until yesterday and your preset videos has instantly shot it to the top of my wishlist. helps that it's so affordable, too... great stuff here! really appreciate you playing the same riff so you can properly tell the difference between patches too.
@dirtfriend Жыл бұрын
got it in the mail today and there's a suuuuper nasty high-pitched whine... not even running off of batteries eliminated it. luckily running it in the FX loop seems to fix it, so it looks like it's supposed to run off of line level inputs and not instrument? had to search pretty far to figure this out, so hopefully i can save someone some time now, to load up these sweet patches!!

Hi! I just bought this pedal, but when I plug it and try to connect it with the site with he patches, I get a blank message. It is not the cable, because my laptop does recognize it as MIDI, what could it be?
@DoNoise5 ай бұрын
Hi, It might be about your browser settings. Maybe try to see if there’s an option to allow your browser to control USB or MIDI devices. You could also try a different browser. If these don’t work I don’t have any other suggestions unfortunately.

How does the bigger zoom multi effects pedals compare to the multi stomp
@DoNoise5 жыл бұрын
Levi Jesse The Yamaha Magic Stomp? I had spent very little time with the Magic Stomp. Zoom is much easier to use and most of the effects sound better, in my opinion. Magic Stomp has some great effects, though.

Great vid! What's the entire rig/signal chain and how do you record?
@DoNoise5 жыл бұрын
Stanislav Vartanyan thank you! It’s guitar > HX Stomp. Zoom is in the FX loop of the HXS. In the HX, Clean amp > Zoom Multistomp. I record direct from HXS.
@stanislavvartanyan94305 жыл бұрын
@@DoNoise thanks for the quick reply. Do you record from HXS as a digital source via USB or as an analog source via its analog outputs to a soundcard or audio interface?
@DoNoise5 жыл бұрын
Stanislav Vartanyan I do both. Sometimes I connect the main outputs to a Boss RC-3 and record it to the looper, and then transfer the files. Sometimes I use the USB port on the HX Stomp. I don’t remember which one I used for this video. It’s been a while since I recorded it.

So is the 50 60 70 and 100 all the same after you update the firmware?
@DoNoise5 жыл бұрын
Levi Jesse not exactly. There are still small differences.
@OttosTheName5 жыл бұрын
50 can load all fx from any other model, 60 has bass stuff, 70 has time based fx, can load all fx from other models with hacked updater, 100 I don't know well
@levijessegonzalez36295 жыл бұрын
How hard is it to move to the next preset? Can you plug in an external controller? I just see it has one footswitch...
@DoNoise5 жыл бұрын
Levi Jesse easy. You can choose which effects you want to scroll through and the switch goes through them with each press. You can see in the video I chose 9 presets (marked A to I) and each time I press the footswitch, the pedal switches to next preset.
@levijessegonzalez36295 жыл бұрын
@@DoNoise if the switch acts as a present selector, how do you go back or turn it off? I'm talking about live situations
@DoNoise5 жыл бұрын
Levi Jesse there are 2 ways. You can put an empty presets between your presets and select those while scrolling to bypass the effects. You can also use a true bypass switcher and put the Multistomp in its loop.

Really nice. Just a question : I see you enter your guitar with two cable in the pedal. Do you use any stuff between both ?
@DoNoise4 жыл бұрын
Olivier Gadeau thanks! The Multistomp was in the stereo fx loopof my HX Stomp. I connected it stereo in/out so that I could record the stereo synth and drum parts (for the other video) right after this without having to change connections. Nothing else in between. The signal chain within the HX Stomp is Amp > FX Loop > Cabs.

what real life effect is the drive echo based on actually?

@@DoNoise thanks dude! Could u tell me what the codes (added with your patches) are and how to use them?? Also do u know if I can safely use the editor with the hacked version of the MS70? I'm asking because I don't want to risk bricking my pedal 😅

@@boimesa8190 I don’t know about the hacked version. I have no experience. The code is for the web editor. You can just set up these patches manually by referring to the pictures I posted.

Do the comp, filter synth and bit crush models come installed in the pedal or do you have to load them in yourself?
@DoNoise4 жыл бұрын
Dan Fawcett depends on when you buy the pedal. New pedals bought in the last ~2 years should have all effects, older ones need to be updated. It’s still exactly the same pedal, though.

Can i add ms50g patches to the ms70cdr?
@DoNoise5 жыл бұрын
Yes but 50G has some effects that the 70CDR doesn't (drives and amps). Patches with those effects won't be possible to replicate on the 70CDR but other than that, it is possible.
@Tony-tm8kl5 жыл бұрын
Hey, I've got the MS-50G and I cannot get the Drive Echo to load through the github editor. I have the most recent firmware (3.1), but it keeps telling me it doesn't exist. It will load for a few seconds and then gets removed. Am I doing something wrong? Sorry, I'm kind of new to this.
@DoNoise5 жыл бұрын
Tony Woolwine there is some kind of “effect selector” software for the 50G which lets you select which effects will be on your pedal. You need to use that to select the effects for your pedal after the update. You can replace effects you’re not using with Drive Echo and other new stuff.
@Tony-tm8kl5 жыл бұрын

Which patch are you using for the intro? Also, what kind of cable gets you from guitar to separate L&R inputs? Is this much different from using a regular patch cord in with stereo outs?
@DoNoise4 жыл бұрын
Sean LoFi Ambient is the one for the intro. The Multistomp was in the FX Loop of the HX Stomp. HX Stomp has a TRS Stereo send so I used a breakout cable to connect it. I could have used a regular patch cable and connected mono in/stereo out. It would sound the same.
@Sean-xl3mc4 жыл бұрын
@@DoNoise Thanks for the reply! I'm going to try my MS-50 in my mixer's FX loop tonight :)

I really hate those synthed crackles from any vinyl emulation. Sounds horrible and not authentic at all 😂 Not that real crackles always sound great though 😅 But using a subtle modulating low pass filter might make it sound a little better. Maybe not more authentic, but at least a little better. Thanks for the demo 😊
@ruido_sagrado4 жыл бұрын
shallow water vs this!
@DoNoise4 жыл бұрын
Multistomp is more versatile and it’s stereo. Shallow Water is simpler and has a dynamic element with its filter. Also Shallow Water is analog if that’s important to you.
