Zoom problem In Canon Zoom Lens EF 24-70mm 1:2.8 L II USM, just because of ONE (1) broken part, but I manage to fix it by hard solering the broken parts together so the zoom function works again.
Then this lens came back to working life, instead of being said "We can not repair it, buy another one"...
And a little news, It's actually my KZbin channels Birthday today, I uploaded my first video on the 10. of April 2011

And a little news, It's actually my KZbin chanels Birthday today, I uploaded my first video on the 10. of April 2011. With this video that is my number 652, I would like to say many, many thank you to all of you out there, around the world who support my KZbin channel. Back then, I had no (0) idea how big impact the channel would have in the repair community. From starting with making very simple "motion -Lapse" video,s made with a Logitech webcam and a computer, with a moving detection program to only recording when my hand moves over the entire workplace, and with a very low framerate and without any sound 😞. For all the videos with sound I have used different video cameras, but today I use a JVC Professional video camera recording in full HD direct to SD card, and for the sound I use a RØDE stereo mic in much better quality 🙂. All the best for anybody out there, and take good care, we only have one (1) world 🙂.

Gréât work. I didn t think that a resoldering would have work. On my side - if there were sufficient room - I would have put a similar thin metal piece glued with epoxy on the horizontal part of the fork. But as usual very interesting.

I have the original 24-70 2.8L and why I kept it and use it is because the quality...... people don't understand that as we move ahead in the camera industry the lenses become cheaper built and cost more, but lose overall quality ...... Companies are always looking to lower costs to increase profit ...... If you can find the original 24-70mm 2.8L in perfect condition ...get one .....

my lens 27-70 2.8 II works only at 2,8 in 24 to 70 but when f is more works only 24 if I zoom doesnt work err01

Hello, I have the same lens, but I have a different problem, which is that the zoom starts at 28 and not 24. What is this problem and how is the solution? Thank you.

I have that issue right now. Camera bag fell out of storage with the lens. The lens was at 24mm and locked, but now it jumped past the lock with it still engaged, breaking a part of the lock. My lens only works from 28-70mm. Your lens (before you sold it) probably had a similar issue.
