As the proud owner of BOTH Zoom Q2n-4k/Q8n-4k, see nothing that makes me regret my selections. Both offer similar A/V results, even better quality than iPhone, both sonically/visually!

They look great. I've been studying different videos and some are saying smartphones are better in low light but that seems to yellow the look. I like these better in dark lighting. If people want to see more just add lighting or move to better lighting in the room.

IMO...A/V image from Zoom cameras were superior to iPhone. Phones lens added slight orange tinge to overall picture & added, to certain extent, light-gray filter to background. A/V quality from Zoom cameras were as close to natural as possible

You Sir need to give lessons on the Zoom q2n 4k and q8,n 4k. Every were I look no one else knows how to do lighting like you . Nada. I'm going to refer everyone else to this video and blow their minds that they don't know anything but you do. Be prepared to be hated. Both Q's look great. I especially like the guy wearing a hat complaining about shadow, darkness, and saying it's the camera.

Thank you for the comment AND the very kind words! 😁 I know you’re frustration. I’m constantly looking for videos on here to help me make the best decision on some of the gear I want. It’s so frustrating when I can’t find a simple answer to a simple question. Especially in a “real life” scenario. I’m not a professional videographer at all. My set up is very basic & simple. Two or three cameras & a couple lights. Nothing fancy. I got most everything from Amazon. 😁 Thanks again! All the best!

My apologies for the delayed response. That I’m not sure about. You can record to an SD card on the zoom so maybe there’s a card reader compatible with your smartphone? Again I’m not sure.

Hello ! I’m a Drummer. I need 3-4 fixed video cameras. I will have an ATEM Mini Pro ISO 4 channel pro video switcher. I will have 3-4 cameras placed around the Drum-kit so as I play I can switch angles For audio I will be sending a premixed audio line to each individual camera so they are each able to later sync video by audio through Black Magic Design Resolve . So the audio is NOT important AT all As that main audio for multicam comes from the pro digital console. The question being that audio on the cam is not important , which camera would you pick for the video? Should I save some money buying the lesser expensive or buy the larger more expensive camera. Will it give me much better video for that price? Thanks !

Hey there! I think the camera is actually the same on each. The q8 gives you more audio inputs but if audio isn’t important then I’d say check out the q2. It’s a great little camera for the money. If you’re going with more than one, maybe think about picking up just one q8 to throw into the mix? That’s what I did. I have 2 q2n4k’s & 1 q8n4k. On a side note, they make great webcams. I think when the camera is set to webcam mode the screen might go dark but otherwise no. I was using a capture card for this recording & I didn't have any issues.

Long story short, they both record great audio but subpar video that's grainy in anything but full daylight.

@@UPdan Trust me, it's terrible. I bought the q2n-4k and returned it because of this. These are good audio recorders but the camera's are a joke. The average smartphone does much better on the video part. I can't understand why Zoom hasn't released one of these with a decent camera yet. It would probably be a bit more expensive, but it would be a killer product. Other company's make good cameras with subpar audio. Zoom makes good audio recorders with subpar video.

I’m set up in our basement & it can get pretty dark down there so I do have two lights set up for filming. Thanks for the comment.

This guy doesn`t seem to know about stopping and shooting again. He needs to leave out the ums and ahs. Like most, he leaves out the prices, and the two Zooms are very different in size. The Q8 appears to be a bit sharper than the Q4.

@@shannonwicklinemusic "This guy", could try to do better and not "just" defend themselves in the way of an amateur. There are plenty of other videos on the exact same subject. And, just like them, failed to mention the price differences, Etc. It is, as you said, all for you. Great excuse. Don`t forget it is you who is getting the attention and you who is making money from these videos. Perhaps more than as a musician. You can shoot a video and get paid for years which is much different than having to show up to play in a band, RIGHT? Also, I am very much aware of the "I am ONLY..", or I am JUST..." excuse to appear to be SOOOO innocent. I guess musicians have no idea about Human Nature and The Human Defense System. It is often smarter to start with the "Thank you... and think about what I said, instead of the excuses that show nothing more than that... A waste of my time and his. "This guy", like most musicians has a very strong need for attention. He would do much better if he would hone his skills and try to be and sound more professional in his presentations, and consider rehearsing and editing them to look more professional. A little acting rather than reacting is the more professional way of doing things. If he was playing in a band and made an error he would stop and re-shoot. Wouldn`t he? That is one of the main problems of not having a director but directing himself.

Including the price. 😊 I’m getting paid absolutely nothing for this video. As I said, not a pro content creator. Just a regular guy trying to help out others. Nothing more. @@shannonwicklinemusic II can see by the way you speak and/or write that you don`t think much about what your or I do. I find it very easy to see what others do and why, because I have studied the two fields of Human Nature, and The Human Defense System. It is sort of like a Dr. can see a symptom of a patient before a thorough examination. It is interesting that you seem to have no idea or understanding that different people with different specialties see things differently. For example, I have learned not to defend nor make excuses for what I say or do. It took a long time to see it and to learn to stop making excuses. It helped my relations with others tremendously. I often say to people. "Try a month without making excuses for anything you do." They usually ask, "What should I do?" I suggest they take responsibility for what they said or do. Then I add, "You don`t have to be sorry to say you are sorry." An excuse is only good for you. Saying sorry I will be more careful in the future or simply giving in to the other person's feelings is the best for them. The way you function as far as I can see here is your very defensive sense of insecúrity. A secure person needs no defenses or excuses. The simplest and most ordinary situation is when a friend is late and tries to excuse their lateness with: "The train was late." or "The alarm didn`t go off." can be compensated by getting up 20 Min. earlier. I can also see that you can lie as well as defend. There is no way you wish me well. It is your way of trying to control the situation by showing that YOU are ending this. The best way to end this is for you to stop NOW. Good-bye. I will not go any further. You may need more help than these small notes trying to get through to you. It takes a long time and practice, but first, you have to see it as a problem. If we went further I would ask you what long-term relationships you have with women and/or the children you may have or not have. The rest is up to you. You can`t even see anything I said as remotely interesting, and you haven't said anything interesting or intelligent. Therefore if I hear from you again with the same lecturing rant I will block you from commenting to me in the future. Fair warning, as if you care.
