A Peaceful Hike to Soapstone Lake in Oregon

A early spring day hike out to a little lake full of newts!
Soapstone Lake Trailhead is off highway 53 outside of Necanicum, Oregon. The hike is a 3 mile lollipop with a loop around the lake. It starts through old growth forest climbing slowly up to Soapstone Lake.
From almost anywhere in the lake, you can see rough-skinned newt that make their habitat here.
With careful balance, you can walk out on the logs on the shoreline but they can get quite narrow and slippery!
Relax and enjoy the solitude and serenity of Soapstone Lake!
