My first pre release was M11 and I pulled a Primetime and Garruk, and my buddy pulled a Baneslayer and foil Baneslayer. Due to that particular store having a MASSIVE cheating problem during the ROE prerelease, the shop made everyone open their packs ans mark what cards were in them and then we had to give the bags of cards back to be redistributed. Because it was our first event and we didn't know you could drop to keep the cards, neither of us got to keep our insane pulls and I'm still salty about it to this day Primetime was going for around $80 at that time and Garruk was around $40-50, with Garruk also shooting up shortly after, Baneslayer was a cool $30 or so and foil was $50ish

Heres my timeless angels list. I made mine off of looking at yours. I need some cards like cavern of souls to make it better but im using lots of 7 drops for value. 4 challice of the void, 2 ossification, 4 birth of meletis, 1 angel of eternal dawn, 2 starnheim apirant, 4 urzas incubator, 1 serra paragon, 2 shalai, voice of plenty, 1 baneslayer angel, 2 boon bringer Valkyrie, 3 doomskar, 3 steel serriph, 1 Valkyrie harbinger, 1 sephara skysblade, 4 serra emissarry, 2 platnum angel. 19 plains 2 nykthoss shrine, 2 eganjo. Some cards like doomskar could be wrath and some angels could be changed. This deck is slow but really good late game. Has lots of life gain and all angels. with shalai/sephara skyblade and platnum angel or shalai and serra paragon i cant lose game as well.

Ive been playing this list, but i changed some cards. I put in 4 chalice of void and 4 serra emisary, and 3 wrath of gods in the main. I also play it in mono white and use 3 nykthos shrine to mana ramp as well and 4 incubater an 2 starnheim aspirant as extra copies of incubater. I can usually turbo out serra emisary on turn 4 every game. Challice hoses some decks and im playing more of a stompy artifact control Sb. for combo and i got sweepers for go wide aggro decks. Playing baneslayer for 3 mana is actually really good, and serra emissary for 5 mana mid to late game just wins most times. The deck struggles vs 4 control control and fast combo, but is good vs some other decks that emissary shines. Serra emissary is my main reason to play this deck i feel. I feel like using 4 Urza incubater 2 starnheim aspirant and 5-6-7 drop angels is the way to go. Also nythos shrine is insane in the mono white build as it can give you like 6 mana mid/late game. Its slow but powerful late game.

21:18 you should play your fetches before your other lands, unless you have some pressing reason to play a utility land. there was no reason to play cavern of souls in that spot, as the opponent did not have mana up or even show a blue land. the reason fetches are so good and so consistently valuable throughout magic's history is that they serve as deck thinners. you don't ever need to have 20 lands on the board, so if half your lands are actually land tutors, that's fine. if you run 10 fetches and 10 fetchable lands, it's not really hurting you that your max land count is 10, and it means you can reduce the chances of drawing a land in the late game without hurting your chances of drawing lands in the opening hand. if you play and crack 5 fetches in the first 5 turns, then you've reduced your deck's land count by 5. if you had no fetches, and you drew and played 5 lands by turn 5, then your remaining deck would be 15 lands out of 48 cards, yielding a 31.3% chance of drawing a land. most decks don't want to keep drawing lands at a rate of 1 in 3 once they've reached a certain land count, generally between 4 and 7, so that's bad. but by cracking 5 fetches, your remaining deck by turn 5 would be 10 lands out of 43 cards, yielding only a 23.3% chance of drawing a land. you've reduced your odds of drawing a land by almost 10%, meaning your odds of drawing actual gas is up by almost 10%. in the aggregate, across many games, that will increase your win rate significantly because one of the main reasons to lose a game is mana flood. this deck obviously does want to reach at least 6 mana, maybe even 8, but even big mana decks want fetches because they still want to stop drawing lands at some point, and to make that point come later they can just play more lands. and you miss out on that if you don't start cracking your fetches as soon as possible. if you don't actually use them quickly, they may not actually benefit you at all since the game might be over by the time you drew a creature that otherwise would have been a land. and then you're just paying 1 life for no benefit and you'd be better off just playing anything else.
