What a great zoo, great video too. A lot of new species I've never seen before in a zoo ( lappet vultures, the cranes, those weird agamas) Speaking of never seen before critters, Monterey Bay Aquarium is opening it's new deep sea exhibit some time this year. They had a deep sea exhibit years and years ago but they've gained a LOT more information on how to keep, display and even breed creatures from the abyss. Included will be snail fish, giant blood comb jellies, dumbo octopus, vampire squid, zombie worms, yeti crabs, fangtooth fish and a bunch of strange crinoids, corals, molluscs, worms and sea jellies. I don't want to be one of those folk who keep telling you to go to certain zoos but...Ya gotta cover this one! You may have to invest in a low light camera ( rental?) as I know for a fact most of these exhibits will be very dark and even some in red light ( which a lot of deep sea animals can't see). Also I reckon you will get a lot of views if you do cover it: plenty of people from overseas won't be able to see it because of COVID restrictions in their country ( return flights will be problematic) and by the time travel restrictions are lifted internationally the exhibition may be over.

I love Jacksonville Zoo! They are also planning an orangutan reserve exhibition, which it was hinted the apes will be able to showcase and climb great heights, maybe similar to Indianapolis' IOC.
@Dylan-Hooton2 жыл бұрын
Hopefully they'll have more natural-looking climbing structures in case the ones in Indianapolis Zoo aren't happy with their unnatural-looking climbing structures.

Oh, man, I didn't even know Jacksonville had a zoo! I was just a few miles away from there, too, last summer. I might've tried to go, if I'd known. Oh, well. Looks pretty great, though! Nice, spacious exhibits and plans to improve. That blue gecko was amazing, hopefully it'll still be there whenever I get around to visiting. And you were lucky the lions and giraffes were putting on a show while you were there! They added a lot to this video.

Trivia Answer: Thandi, the African elephant, is originally from the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, Washington. She arrived there in January 1983. Thandi was later transferred to Disney's Animal Kingdom in June 1997, then to the National Elephant Center in Fellsmere, Florida in May 2013, and finally to the Jacksonville Zoo in November 2015.

I would love if you could do Sedgwick county zoo in Wichita KS that’s the zoo I grew up going to and miss it greatly and haven’t been able to go back in years. And as always love your videos!

Cowabunga!!! Which zoo are you going next for Episode 113 sooner or later? In fact, visit the San Diego Zoo Safari Park soon! Also, here are 4 zoo trivia questions for you, Zak... 1) What are the names of the 2 newborn elephant calves at the Omaha Zoo? 2) How many female Mexican Gray Wolves are welcomed at the San Francisco Zoo when Bowie is at his own exhibit, since Prince & Garcia passed away so far? 3) Who is the name of the black bear that passed away from the Los Angeles Zoo? 4) Which animals did the Oakland Zoo usually house many years ago?
